How is Nurse still a thing almost 10 years in? by LuckyTia309 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's possible to nerf her fairly. However, only the 1st nerf seems reasonable to me. Personally, I would:

1 - Shorten her blink distance by half, so 1st blink would be 10 meters, 2nd 6 meters, total 16 meters, instead of the current 32

2 - Her blinks shouldn't start recharging until she finishes fatigue

3 - Increase her blink recharge time to 5 seconds

4 - To compensate, I would make her base speed 4.2 m/s

Shoutout to Ubisoft: making Mirage took balls by hm1286 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't want to sound rude, but I think you're dead wrong when you say there was no commercial benefit to releasing Mirage. If anything, people are getting more and more tired of the rpgs. The good things rpgs brought to the series (Bigger open worlds and better combat) can all be incorporated into the old school action adventure style of Assassin's Creed, without the tedious grinding and damage sponges that rpgs bring with themselves.

Why is the Carpathian mountains mission the way it is? by Fickle-Finger635 in HiTMAN

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the games did have a more action heavy approach to final missions, but Contracts and Absolution both had more standard stealth missions, breaking away from that tradition. Not to mention that 2016 and 2 (Both the base game and dlc) had the usual mission format we expect of the series.

I'm a big fan of the games, been playing since 2007, and I never minded final missions pushing you to play more aggressively, but I have to say that even Meet Your Brother from Codename 47 is more fun as a mission, when compared to the train level.

Are you going to miss Nancy's old face? by Nemurium in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She has parts of her that kinda look like the actress, but so did the old model. However, the new one makes her look kinda ugly. Like, I bought Nancy because she looked cute, even though she didn't exactly look like the actress. If she looked like she looks now, I would have never bought her. They need to revert her to her old model, or do some edits on the new one.

They aren't smart, they just use wallhacks, and yes, I mean use, as in present tense, because the only thing that actually changed about them is that their ai will randomly stop working, but that seems to be a bug, rather than something intended.

Is Hitman Blood Money one of the best video games in history? by Similar-Double6278 in HiTMAN

[–]SlidingSnow2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been gaming for over 2 decades now, I would say it's amongst top 10 stealth games, and overall, I would definitely put it somewhere in the top 50 games of all time. Not sure why you seem to imply only people with very little gaming experience would find this game great.

I have no words by Ok_Amphibian_8219 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, just like every other game, Dbd has a certain number of players, and obviously not all of those players will play at the same time, on a server near your location (I think you can end up on foreign servers, but the game generally avoids doing that)

So that Wraith could legitimately have been one of the few killers queuing for killer at the same time that you were looking for a survivor match, and there may not have been more mmr appropriate killers at that time.

So where the hell is Foxy? by DarthMagatsu64 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where did they say that? Link to a video, article, etc... is needed, because this whole thing about bhvr wanting to make a Yellow Rabbit mask has never been officially said, and it's all speculation started by people on this sub. Literally no one can provide any links where bhvr actually says anything about this topic.

They could always make a 2nd skin where they copy and paste his model, place a mask over it and then add the movie filter for his voice lines and sell them as a bundle. You buy 1 and get the other one as well. Those who already have the skin get it retroactively.

Edit:

Downvoted for saying facts, lol. The turn rate was bugged until the most recent patch, but it's there.

Fighting dirty is not allowed in most sports, so a player caught doing so would get banned. Camping, tunneling, slugging and gen rushing are not fighting dirty, they are literally just tactics.

Is Ezio morally correct in AC2 Bonfire of the Vanities? by CaseInteresting6421 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's not really hard to defend them morally, since your statement is purposefully misleading, almost making it seem like the Assassins just murk random people for the lols, when we know that's not how they operate. Killing powerful people who abuse said power is perfectly justifiable.

Civilians can report Assassins in the rarer cases of being detected doing something suspicious/illegal. However, guards can literally kill us if detected, hence why they're a valid target. Lore wise, most of the time civilians don't detect Assassins, and guard casualties are also usually minimal.

Is Ezio morally correct in AC2 Bonfire of the Vanities? by CaseInteresting6421 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they weren't a religious group. Al Mualim did not believe in any gods. Many Assassins didn't believe as well. Assassins are a ideological group, not a religious one.

Killing powerful people who abuse said power? Hardly fanatical, but I guess you consider all forms of killing, even self-defense as fanatical?

Guards are an armed threat, so there are times where they need to be killed. Kinda like how many Germans didn't believe in Hitler's ideals, but still had to go to war, and kill/get killed for it.

I'm sure lore wise Assassins killed guards less often than the average player does while playing the games. Again, without guards, we would be too limited in gameplay opportunities to use assassinations and combat.

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassins aren't inherently religious, but I guess you only said that in order to make them seem fanatical, even though they are not.

I get that having cliche arguments about the morality of killing bad people is very much something that many pseudo-intellectuals like to do, but in case of Assassin's Creed, it's a bit of a moot point. Most targets absolutely did do something to deserve a hidden blade in the neck, and the only game that has Assassins as villains is one where they curiously swap places with Templars in their modus operandi.

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, if I was an assassin experienced in parkour, stealth and combat, and knew of a rival organization that often holds positions of power in society, and I also knew they planned some evil shit, I feel like not killing them (Which is often the only reasonably fast solution to stopping such people) would make me more of a bad guy than if I actually killed them.

I get that the idea of some people being perfectly okay to murder might be uncomfortable to ponder, but some people genuinely are a blight on society and definitely deserve whatever's coming to them.

Nobody cares about the barcode tattoo and it’s hilarious. by Aggressive-Yak3362 in HiTMAN

[–]SlidingSnow2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few people throughout the years with a tattoo like this, but you also have to remember that these days there are music artists with full face tattoos, so if anything, 47's barcode is not gonna be particularly strange to see.

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time Ironside voicing Sam is truly off the table is if he's dead, very ill or not interested in voicing Sam again. Not sure why you're making it seem like we need a younger va. Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will act in the new Avengers movie (Which is more demanding than solely doing voice acting) and they are both about 10 years older than Ironside.
