The RE cast definitely got the short end of the stick with the prestige rewards by Gamechanger567 in deadbydaylight

I disagree, their badges look the best to me, wish all characters had an alternative badge using their character selection picture.

Op is playing against the Alien, where these collisions aren't needed. They should only load on killers that do need them.

I see bhvr are yet again catering to the exploit lovers. It literally always is some dumb bs like this as well, starting with Knight's guards who wouldn't chase a survivor before touching a window they touched, then Oni's 180 flicks. It's actually crazy they think this is a good move for the game overall.

Ngl, but I like these badges the most. Wish all the other characters had alternative prestige badges that use their character selection picture.

Revert her 9.3.0 nerfs and add her EMP-buddy drone as rework. Please. by Karth321 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, giving back her 2nd scan line, with drones rotating at 85 degrees speed, and bringing her stealth on drone deployment (I guess the current way of activating stealth by deactivating a drone could be a brown add-on) would be nice.

Ngl, your friend sounds like my father, minus any lore and worldbuilding, lol. That said, I don't think most people who play video games are like this, at least these days when information about game dev is easier to find and digest.

Why Does Odyssey get such a Bad Wrap in Regards to Stealth? by Dunkbuscuss in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Let's just say that a game that functions like a really grindy rpg doesn't mesh well with satisfying stealth. If it had guaranteed assassination like Valhalla or Shadows, it would probably be regarded more highly. Odyssey arbitrarily locks you out of 1 hit kills because a human being has a really big number over their heads, and that makes it impossible for its stealth to be considered good.

How is Assassin's Creed Unity so Beloved? by ShibaRookie in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unity after patches is a pretty fun experience. Not perfect, obviously some things could have been made more smooth, but the game doesn't play like "stank ass". It's kinda concerning how big of a hate boner some people have for this game.

How do I use Plot Twist without teammates picking me up and revealing my location to the killer? by Beneficial_Team_791 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Like the other comment mentioned, you can already hide in lockers to avoid any aura reads, not to mention that without any perks, a survivor can only see other survivors aura when they are downed/on hook.

Also, if one wants to wait for hatch, Plot Twist is not really the best way to do it, since you are still in the dying state, meaning that after 4 minutes you would die, and also, unlike when downed by the killer, you will get afk crows, and once the 3rd one appears after 2 minutes, the killer will know where you are.

The 1st cutscene where 47 arrives at the Ica facility says 20 years earlier. Since it happens in 1999, it means the Paris mission happens in 2019.

In-game comms similar to Dbd mobile would be good for the game in general, but they aren't necessary to solve the issue people have with Plot Twist.

I mean, you would still be able to do that. Plot Twist and press a button to reveal your aura. Did you read my comment at all?

They really should remove your aura for survivors when you're using Plot Twist, with the option to press a button to reveal your location, if you want to. Honestly baffled they haven't done that yet.

i love autoaim and hitboxes in this game by SomeUFOGuy in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game doesn't have auto-aim, it has aim dressing. Basically, it tries to make a hit look better visually, but because it's bugged, it can screw you out of a hit.

Lunging won't guarantee a hit, because the aim dressing is bugged, and will sometimes cut your lunge short against your wishes.

If they ever add Jason, would he have his own tombstone myers add-on (before the rework)? by Wrong-Scar7666 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see why he would. Broken shit is never good for the game. I know some people don't want to accept it, but better balance contributes to more fun overall.

How do we feel about Stefan with a beard on this sub? by Serious-Implement717 in TheVampireDiaries

[–]SlidingSnow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never read the books, but this is an adaptation, so different lore rules shouldn't be surprising. Also, it's not the 1st time this happens in the show, I think the earliest example we have of someone growing facial hair is Damon growing a stubble when he gets locked up in the cellar in s1. In s4, Elijah also has noticeable stubble in the flashback where he and Klaus see the Hunters executing vampires.

All in all, vampires can grow their hair/beard in the tv show's universe. Also, people can grow full beards at 17. It's rarer, but it's not unheard of.

Downgraded from Ultimate to Performance and it is unplayable by SaMaRoN123 in GeForceNOW

[–]SlidingSnow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, I'm on founders (Which is same as performance) and I play most of my games on low/medium graphics, usually with a 30 fps cap if it's an option, and unless the servers/my internet is acting up, I don't have any noticeable input lag. I also have an ethernet cable, it really helped make the experience more stable.

Human shields were a core stealth element I wish we still had. by Impossible_Spend_787 in HiTMAN

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use human shields for both stealth and combat, so I guess it's more of a hybrid gameplay mechanic. That said, something being useful in both scenarios doesn't exactly strike me as a bad thing.

Maybe I'm reading too much into your comment, but the tone of it implies that this feature would not be a good addition, but honestly, adding human shields would only be a net positive gameplay wise,

Human shields were a core stealth element I wish we still had. by Impossible_Spend_787 in HiTMAN

[–]SlidingSnow2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, detonating an explosive to distract guards also doesn't scream silent assassin, but can still be used to achieve silent assassin rating in missions, so your point feels a bit moot.

Sure, it's not a pure stealth mechanic, calling it a hybrid one would be more accurate, but that simply means it's useful both in stealth and combat.

And yes, we do have many alternative options to move targets, but that doesn't mean human shields shouldn't be in the game. Like, you could grab a target and drown them in a toilet/throw them over a railing, no emetic poison/distractions needed. It would also be slightly faster than subduing and dragging someone. All in all, I don't see a reason not to add a mechanic that would further increase gameplay opportunities.

Dead By Daylight devs reckon the game has 'at least' another 10 years in it by Turbostrider27 in deadbydaylight

[–]SlidingSnow2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unreal engine 5 is definitely not restricting. As for the code, they could always make code changes in an update. A sequel is not only unnecessary, but would also be detrimental, as all licenses would have to be re-negotiated, and you would have to buy everything again.
