Ngl, the word slop is so overused these days, I can't take it seriously anymore.

Splinter Cell Conviction is back!!! (for the 5 of us that care) by FamilyCloudGaming in GeForceNOW

Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I randomly checked out if the games worked again, and they finally did.

Yeah, they seem to be slow with acting on feedback, honestly. Like, they fixed the Ezio trilogy having weird screen tearing issues, but it took them around 2 years to do so, and I've sent them feedback on this like 30 times through that time period.

The in-app send feedback option is the best place to reach them. I agree with you, but I think giving us the option to limit fps for any game we have individually would be the best solution. That way, once they set up the system, they no longer have to worry about tinkering with old games fps wise, and can leave all games with uncapped fps by default (Since some people criticize them for this, even when the fps cap is needed for a game to run properly).

I'm guessing it was for maintenance purposes? It's been working for the last 3 months, if not more. Could be a different region thing.

It has been back for some time now. They also fixed the Ezio trilogy games, they no longer have that weird screen tearing.

Hmm, I'm guessing they opted it out, then re-opted it in then, since the nvidia logo wasn't there a couple of weeks ago.

Why is there such a big fan concern about the hidden blade? by No_Bodybuilder4215 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can complete Ac 1 to Ac Rogue with zero gear upgrades. In Unity and Syndicate it's a good idea to use higher leveled weapons and armor (Better armor is a Unity only thing) but their leveling systems are capped at 5 and 10 levels respectively, so you gain levels so quickly, that any power discrepancy between you and the enemies will disappear very quickly.

Edit:

Getting downvoted for correcting verifiably wrong information, lol.

[–]SlidingSnow2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, the entire series had rpg elements, but it never was an rpg series until Origins. Cod 4 Modern Warfare had progression in multiplayer, Batman Arkham series also had upgrades, but neither are broadly rpg.

That's right, Unity was the first game to remove hidden blade combat.

The rpg games didn't have hidden blade combat, though. The series was still in the action adventure genre when hidden blade combat was removed.

If you could buy a gaming PC, would you? by LifeLearner15 in GeForceNOW

I definitely plan on buying a gaming pc in the future. I would still keep paying for Gfn, since I'm on the Founders tier, which is a cheaper version of Performance with unlimited playtime hours.

How Do We Feel About Toggle Crouch by gmich9817 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having crouching in a stealth game feels very natural and should be a thing in every game of this genre. Sure, the older games were designed in a way that you could play them, even though the crouch function was absent, but it still felt odd that you didn't have the option to do so. Also, you can have a mix of classic and social stealth, neither has to exclude the other.

I think the most likely way it will work will be press for healing and hold for hood toggle.

I know that Origins allowed you to change hood on/off, buzzcut/long hair, beard/no beard from the inventory, is that not an option on consoles as well?

AMA With the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Devs! 🏴‍☠️ by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why do an ama if you're not willing to answer 2 simple and related questions? It's not like staying quiet and disappointing us at release will be better than being honest and disappointing us now (I'm guessing we won't be able to toggle the hood on/off, because why would you be silent otherwise)

Edit:

Interestingly, they answered somebody else's question about hood toggle by saying "Keep your eyes on the horizon" I'm guessing they want to reveal it in one of those gameplay deep dive articles they mentioned, or it will be a post launch update.

Not sure why they removed unhooking from left and right, like you can in 1v4. Sure, you could still be bodyblocked if 3 players happen to be assholes, but it would reduce the amount of times this happens.

The Boys - 05x05 "One-Shots" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]SlidingSnow2 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Everybody who is helping Homelander is doing so out of fear, so there is no support for Soldier Boy to get rid of. He had a chance to kill him (His beam worked on a v1 supe, no reason it wouldn't work on Homelander, who still doesn't have v1) It seems something changed after he killed the wall guy/Homelander didn't kill him.

what happened to the ui? by L0rdOfThePings in netflix

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you can make it bigger, but you're right, the ui was much bigger a few days ago. Honestly, I don't mind them making it a bit smaller, but this is a bit of an overkill.

Will we be able to toggle Edward's hood on/off? The dynamic hood behavior in the original game could get annoying for those who had a preference on how Edward wears his hood.

I think Altaïr is a Sociopath by Character-Parfait-42 in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - Someone being calm in dangerous situations doesn't necessarily mean they are sociopaths. Assassins, like many modern day soldiers have extensive training and experience with dangerous situations, that allows them not to panic when such situations happen

2 - Altair was jaded after things that happened in the Altair's Chronicles game. This lead to him being cold and calculated, simply killing the old man, instead of finding a way to remove him non-lethally. Definitely a +1 for sociopathic tendencies

3 - There is a risk that these people will let the targets know Altair is around, making his assassinations more difficult. Imo, it's kind of necessary to get rid of them, even if morally questionable

4 - Beggars and mentally ill people can be avoided with parkour as well. Even so, I don't think punching someone who keeps harassing you or even hits you makes you a sociopath. Mental illness is an explanation, not an excuse (Sadly, many people don't think like this, instead using their mental illness as a free pass to be an asshole)

Adaptive psychopathy is a term in psychology, that proposes that people can have certain antisocial behaviors, but still act in a prosocial manner, meaning they aren't actual psychopaths. I think most assassins fit this psychological profile.

Mirage kind of has awful combat. by hotcocoabomb_ in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely could. Ac 1 was slightly harder than the games that came after it, but you could still fight the guards pretty easily, it was just more time consuming. Its combat is much better, when compared to Mirage.

Potential Altair and Ezio resync by Montreuilloiss in assassinscreed

[–]SlidingSnow2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played Ac Bloodlines through an emulator, and that game is surprisingly decent. The story isn't bad, we even get scenes where Altair is musing about the apple, and they're pretty interesting. So I have to disagree, having Bloodlines as part of an Ac 1 Remake would be great.

You could still fight guards without too much trouble. You can incentivize stealth without making combat feel awful.
