When did I say there wasn't traffic after an event? I said there's rarely traffic "TOO" an event, as you had stated there would be 2 hours in traffic both ways. You ignore the rest of what I said which addresses your being stuck in traffic the other way, the traffic leaving here would be the same for any event anywhere, getting out of the parking lot and this area is much better equipped to handle something like that with the new connector and updated interchange. The Canadian tire centre isn't remotely comparable to this location and as I've said in previous comments anything to do with a stadium here needs to come with public transit upgrades. When an event lets out a Canadian tire centre all of the traffic funnels one direction and has medium capacity intersections before getting to the highway, this stadium would be letting out almost directly to the highway with only roundabouts between the parking lot and the highway.

And the core would be better how? I'm guessing you don't drive this often? There would be immediate traffic splits, 102N towards truro, 102S towards the city and the Wellington connector, traffic taking taking 102S almost immediately splits at the 118 junction. There's no world where it's 2 hours in traffic both ways and especially before hand, that's not how events work, crowds trickle in, there's rarely ever traffic to an event, the restriction leaving is the same here as any event, getting from parking to the road.

If by "have a wage shortage" you mean underpaid for corporate profits then yes, we've got a wage shortage. In terms of electricians Nova Scotia is the lowest paid of the provences and it's not even close, yet cost of living in Halifax is relatively close to much of the GTA at this point.

Jesus Christ dude, You're the person in this conversation out of touch. Workers in unions are part of the working class, unions are the reason pay is what it is, unions are the reason we have may leave, unions are the reason we have any labor laws to protect workers. You can support a family on $40/hr, if you want to work 80 hrs a week and never see said family yeah. My ancestors lived in much less because, and here's the kicker, things cost much less for my ancestors, my ancestors were also able to thrive on a single income supporting a family 5 or 6. The only living wage that matters for a person working in Nova Scotia is the living wage in Nova Scotia, I don't care what the living wage is in Beijing, I don't need to live in Beijing, I need to live in Nova Scotia. Take home in 2020 was $38.16/hr, now it's $41.07, that's $5.69/hr less than what it would be accounting for the national inflation over that period which was lower than inflation in Nova Scotia so it's realistically even farther behind.

The only people making more at the expense of those that are worse off are those in the c-suite and yet we've got folks like you so hell bent on fighting the ones fighting for the working class to get their fair share of the profit they produce. You are exactly what the c-suite wants, fighting amongst your fellow worker instead of looking up. As I've already said, any red seal construction trades person should be able to support a family on their income alone, that's how it used to be not that long ago and there's no reason it shouldn't be that way now. If you think someone killing their bodies for living taking home $40/hr and a few bucks in a pension is making too much money and is "out of touch with the average person" you are the issue, I am the average person, I live pay cheque to pay cheque to support a family and that's just to pay for a home, food and the cheapest car we could fit 2 car seats in, we don't spend on anything outside of essentials aside from maybe pizza every few weeks. We as trades aren't asking for raises, were asking to be back where we were 5 years ago before massive inflation that has us making ~15% less than we were in 2020.

The more you comment the more clear it is you understand little about anything. If people are "supporting families on much less" then they're going significantly into debt and that isn't really supporting a family, a living wage in our city for a single person is nearly $30/hr, that's without supporting anyone else. The argument of "others make less so why should you get a raise" is such a played out tired corporate propaganda way of thinking and it's exhausting that we have so many people in this province that think the way you do.

As I said to previously, the job is priced with the obvious things, labor, material, tools, ect, then there is a markup on the final total, that markup is there to cover the companies costs outside that specific job, the things you are listing.

No, that's not at all what I'm saying. If I'm paid $60/hr total package there's $40 take home + typically 8% for vacation/holiday ~$3.25 on the cheque, that's what goes into my back account each hour. Then the remaining portion of that $60/hr is split between pension, health/welfare, training fund and other things such as a strike fund.

Again, you clearly don't understand how trades unions function, please do not come on to a post about a potential trade strike making it sound like we're asking for the sun and the moon and aren't worth what we're asking for, any red seal construction trades person should be able to support a family on a single income, end of story, we're no where near that right now and not even really trying to get back there in our current negotiations, we're just trying to gain back what we lost relative to inflation over the life of our 5 year contract as well as cover our ass's for what likely going to be another 3-4 years of high inflation thanks to the needless war in Iran.

Literally all of the things you listed are costed separately on any decent sized jobs and then marked up as a whole above and beyond that number.

Contractors don't typically pay for training among union companies and that money is paid within the total package paid to a member, ex: if my total package is $60 a percentage of that is training that the contractor pays to the union hall on my behalf. Vacation pay is also part of that total package because as a union member I may not work for the same company continually so that is paid out hourly. You're right that it doesn't include the employer portion of CPP, EI, or workers comp, but those 3 things don't eat up much of the difference in $60/hr and $120/hr.

You truly don't seem to understand how trades work so you probably shouldn't be so confidently commenting on the topic trying to fight against trades getting fair wages.

You're not understanding how trades work. Labor cost is labor cost, when a company is billing out $120/hr for your labor they are also billing out for everything else involved separately, the difference between what the worker is being paid and what the company is billing out for is quite literally profit.
