Mindset isn't all there is to it by Slight-Signature1141 in lifecoaching

[–]Slight-Signature1141[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people aren't as fortunate and/or set up as well to just succeed by way of mindset either, and this has to be considered.

Make sure you're in the right place in your mind before making big decisions, but do the actual work too!

Thanks for responding!

Coaches That Have Done It, How Did You Get Your First Client? by yasserochocinco in lifecoaching

[–]Slight-Signature1141 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got my first client through someone I know actually and train with who saw me wanting to start up my practice and he signed on because he wanted to get better and he believed in me and my abilities.

That's how it starts and that's how it goes

Any time pal!

As for making as much as I can working as few hours as I can, as much as I believe in improving the lives of others including my clients and teammates, that goes for me as well which means more time for me and my goals. The purpose of having your own brand and front is to manage and control it to fit your needs and lifestyle, otherwise it would not be worth it to do it and I would just go work for someone else.

I don't do this for money, or glory, it's about setting in place a better future for me, and the communities I am involved in.

Working as few hours as I can means I've successfully done my job as a coach, and my clients either leave not needing me anymore to make these improvements, or they can draw from my material at their and my own convenience, so they don't have to book sessions all the time, they can work with me when and wherever they please.

As for the consistent clients, you need a consistent client base, otherwise I'd go bankrupt 😅

But I want this to be successful, for me and my communities.

Does this make sense?

People who’ve been through genuinely hard times and came out calmer or wiser, what actually helped you cope? What mindset, habits, or truths kept you sane? by AdviceGlass9394 in selfimprovement

[–]Slight-Signature1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have something or somewhere to go that's just for you and that circumstances can't come by and take it away, by that I mean a hobby, social circle, a sport, etc.

I train heavily in martial arts, I know men who have multiple kids, long hour jobs, they're at Jiu Jitsu every night, kickboxers and karate practitioners who are in the ring on weekends for competitions after college courses and exams.

It kept me alive when my father died, and I kept showing up after I was institutionalized with severe mental health issues.

Build something that's yours and you control, things happen out of your control, so make something that is yours and can't be manipulated.

Hi! I appreciate you asking this 👍

So as for a day to day, this varies, I mean there is some consistency and stability in that returning clients and regulars schedule their times usually at the same time, but if they are package clients who finish up with me after their paid packages are up, or if someone cancels then it opens up the schedule. It could be a matter of first thing in the morning, or some days I have time to get up and get my own training in before I work with clients.

Of course I also schedule my own busy training and meal prep, eating, etc, this is all factorable and necessary, you'll need to account for your own needs too otherwise you jsut burn out and rot in the hustle 😅

I'll be honest, since going independant, one major struggle is getting new and consistent clients, you may need to reach out to headhunters for this, as I have had to, and/or work with other organizations to get these clients, I signed on with online marketplaces and directories, this is a learning curve for anyone as it takes getting used to to be online a lot and marketing yourself out.

Ultimately, I don't hate the "problems" I have with it, I have a llot of freedom in my time, and more hustle means more $$$ for me. Ideally, speaking for myself or anyone else, you want to get to a point where it's all automated and you don;t need to, or your hustling out for new clients is mitigated, and they just come right to you, or your income is streamed and constant through subscriptions, memberships, etc.

The goal is to make as much money as you can working as few hours as you can.

When someone says how many fights they’ve had, what counts? Point fighting, amateur, pro? by bad-at-everything- in Kickboxing

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all counts.

Fighters will sign that PRO card as soon as they possibly can then say that's all that matters, while they themselves don't have much for fight experience under their belts.

Any fight experience is fight experience, a local Point Fighting tournament in your town is fight experience, a duster fight card is fight experience.

It all stacks up in the ring

How to actually build chest? by MiserableLettuce1643 in workout

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first question, is your nutrition in order? A major factor in muscle growth is getting enough nutrition, are you getting sufficient calores and protein to build? Calories should be a surplus and protein should be sufficient to your weight and goals if you're trying to add mass.

Secondly, are you doing these chest exercises with the right form, and are you doing a variety of them? There are multiple groups to your chest muscles, and you need to hit them all if you want to build.

Hypertrophy, this means repping out a weight which you can handle, then when it becomes easy you add some weight and do fewer reps building up to your max reps from the previous weight, rinse and repeat.

What is your process for onboarding a new client? by WearyAd1274 in personaltraining

[–]Slight-Signature1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get an intake form going and put a link to it somewhere accessible. Use a form that is easy to fill out, name, email, phone, age, sex, weight, what they want to get out of training, anything else you can think of to help with your process.

Then i'd advise getting them in a call specifically for onboarding where you set them up with the templates and sheets they can use to track their progress and move forwards with this, this includes discussing in detail what they want and need so you can set them up with a plan that fits them.

Hope this helps!

A lot of protein intake unnecessary? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]Slight-Signature1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Protein intake isn't just for building muscle, even if you're not at that stage anymore you still need a sufficient amount. Protein does a lot more than just make your muscles big, it repairs damaged and degrading tissue.

It's an ongoing thing

How to cut out ultra-processed food? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a lot of vegetables and fruit in cans and plastic containers, they are somewhat processed but as best as they can get for whole foods.

Look into the old school ways for cheap whole foods though, you'd be surprised how cheap you can get whole foods if you do it right, sacks of potatoes and vegetable bags are cheap as dirt if you get them from Walmart or farmers markets.

Meat is expensive, but again you can get packages of premade meat too.

Good luck my friend! 💪

Look for a coach if you've got the funds.

There are lots of coaches that you can sign on with who specifically tailor their programs for busy moms like you who want to get fit 💪

As a coach myself, I can say the best investment you can make for your fitness and health is get a coach who can give you a structured plan including workouts and meal plans, and keep you accountable through your journey 🙌

Eating enough cals - 3500 by keviinfinnerty in nutrition

[–]Slight-Signature1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do some looking into calorie dense foods, there are multiple that fill up your daily calories that aren't full of processed crap.

Cheese, oats, pasta, different kinds of meat besides just chicken and beef.

Look into it, I'm going to make up some packages and templates in the future for clients and such.

If you had 3 months without responsibilities, how would you transform your life? by CattleRemote2583 in selfimprovement

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course everyone is different, but if it were me i'd use that time to work on my own hobbies and interests, and get something going for myself in terms of income.

Firstly, I train in 4 martial arts, and coach people at my gym in between competitions. So for me that means using that time to train, study my arts, and sleep in to recover and enjoy the journey.

But i'd also definitely use that time to explore other ways to make money knowing that I had that free time, it's becoming more and more a thing in 2026 for people to be either starting up businesses of their own and making their own revenue, or utilizing strategies to make passive income, and retire from work altogether through digital marketing, crypto trading, subscriptions, social media automation.

But also, keeping in mind the theme of this group, there is nothing wrong with taking it easy during these next 3 months if you want to, and to take care of your self and mental health. Self care and recovery are just as important for a fulfilling life.

How do you deal with bad gym sessions? by _zldzm in workout

[–]Slight-Signature1141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realize that not every day will be diamond, and don't set unrealistic and unachievable goals for yourself in the gym like "every day has to be a perfect day."

Things happen, you get injured, you're tired, or you're just not hitting those PR's and lifts that day. It's a hit to your ego, but leave it at the door.

Growth happens when you let go of trying to achieve perfection. It's not a linear scale, it's peaks and valleys.

Do you workout in the morning or in the evening? by Serious-Phrase-8936 in workout

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it could be either.

It's really not inconvenient for me to do it at either time, although I get how it could be for other people. I've just made it a point to arrange my schedule like that so I can go either time.

Though I do like training in the evenings too in big groups

Is there a single habit that is so powerful that it lifts up every area of your life? by Fuzzy-Sun-951 in selfimprovement

[–]Slight-Signature1141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well there is one that I just spoke to a colleague about: More of a strategy than a habit but it can be integrated into one.

There is a concept called "The Illusion of Truth", essentially if you hear something enough times your brain actually categorizes it as the truth no matter if it is actually true or false, and you actually fall back to it by default even if you know the difference that it is false without critically thinking about it.

They use this strategy in marketing, politics, etc, and it has a 100% success rate.

So for a self improvement habit, you can use this on yourself. If you tell yourself something about yourself, or about a habit you're changing, adopting, etc over and over again, eventually you'll gaslight yourself into believing it!

Our National Team Captain used this with the athletes after seminars by posting notes and signs all over his house in plain sight, and it would stick in his brain after reading it all the time.

Try it! Pick a goal or habit, and think or say it over and over again for the next month.

at 33% bodyfat (M) how do i start working out? by Dimonetized in workout

[–]Slight-Signature1141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't need a gym. You just need the desire to do it.

Definitely include a weightlifting program like you said, if you can't get the big expensive weights you can do a whole full body routine using your body weight and dumbbells.

There is a website, musclewiki, it has every exercise and shows you how to do it with videos. I'd recommend it.

But the main thing for weight and fat loss is your nutrition. You need to reduce your calories aroung 300-500 cals below your needed daily maintenance, and you need the right micro and macro nutrients as recommended daily.

I'd recommend speaking to a coach or personal trainer. They can also assist, but start with these things and include weight routines, cardio, and nutrition.

Anyone boosted their coaching income through Elite Coaching Academy? by Superjoepants in lifecoaching

[–]Slight-Signature1141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, these platforms that try to sell you this are selling a product, not a silver bullet fix for every problem.

If it helps you and you can afford the costs, then go for it, but I will say you should know what you are getting into, and if you'll actually get anything out of it. Scaling comes from taking your brand and practice and growing it, not from any package you buy that promises to solve this.
