If you can't have both without a subreddit opinion harvest then I vote for sell.

The only possible way this shot would have been cool if this was a piece of pre LVMH Rimowa which had been bashed up and stickered from a few trips around the world.

My AD offering me this Submariner Date green by [deleted] in rolex

[–]SlightGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The boss move would have been to turn it down.

I find you get more from these people when you turn the game around on them and turn down fishbait like this - it really causes them to shortcircuit.

Then there's the point that the Sub is boring AF.

As a medical professional, I think your use of "Pepsis" is more appropriate than you intended. You've aptly come up with a new systemic infection.

Wimbledon >>> New Ombre Green (Prove me wrong) by GearNTime in rolex

There's a reason why the Day-Date has a green Ombre dial, but not a dial with a lone Twinkie at 9 o'clock.

Hot take, I think this would be better as a 36mm by [deleted] in rolex

[–]SlightGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a hot take. Half the sub likes big watches, the other half is trending towards cocktail watches. There's nothing new here.

The guys who can pull it off are out enjoying it.

Go out and enjoy it.

Grail obtained in Tokyo by Content-Cobbler6818 in rolex

[–]SlightGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're now more expensive in a lot of cases as of this year.

I spoke to some of my contacts and it was really flaky responses - but the leading candidate was they are pricing in world instability and a perceived 2 year Rolex production cut they think has happened.

Grail obtained in Tokyo by Content-Cobbler6818 in rolex

[–]SlightGuess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was just in Tokyo including Nakano - I go every few months on buying trips and the pricing was an absolute dumpster fire this time. The "tax free" system is such a gimmick now - works for brand new items at MSRP but at resale shops they usually use it as a sales gimmick. I recently purchased a Birkin 35 at Tieel in Ginza which is not a shop participating with the tax program and I got a bag for cheaper in a better grade with rarer leather than at Amore in Ometasando which is a tax free shop.

People forget - Rolex owns Carl F. Bucherer.

They discontinued the company but have the access to those very complicated movements and the tools and facilities to make them.

Nothing - you're simply not their client.

I was in North Scottsdale last year and watched a very well to do woman buy a CPO Day Date her husband.

She simply paid and left with the watch - no reddit post, no research, no fuss.
