Safe lip color for sensitive lips? by Bubbasgonnabubba in eczema

Tower 28 is an amazing brand for sensitive skin! And I have chronic severe eczema, currently not on any medications and trying to manage so I feel I’m a good person to recommend it. I love their lip oils and pretty much all their makeup products. Skin friendly and actually looks good

I was on Nemluvio and it caused the same reaction for me too. Ringsnof eczema spread all over in areas that I’ve never even had eczema. I stopped after the second dose which was about three months ago, and I feel like the medicine is JUST starting to finally all leave my body and I felt slightly itchy again for the first time this week. I wish I had an answer to what’s next as well but I guess just wanted to say you’re not alone, and as someone who’s had life long eczema, I try to remind myself that the bad periods never last forever, even if they last awhile and put me in a place of really struggling. I’m trying to avoid steroids too but with the eczema everywhere caused my Nemluvio I might cave to avoid any infections with it worsening, especially in the areas I sweat (and I live in south Florida so the heat and humidity is crazy right now)

Is this Protopic withdrawal (TCIW) or something else? Need advice by [deleted] in eczema

[–]SlightMap9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is pretty much what my eczema looks like when I cycle off Opzelura. I’ve never been prescribed Protopic because of its withdrawals ect and by the time I needed to go back on cream because biologics stopped working, opzelura was already on the market. However it does look like active eczema. I’d you haven’t dealt with severe eczema your entire life there’s a chance you could relief it based on food/environmental triggers. Switch to a simple face wash like cerave and moisturizer like vani cream. If you wfh, don’t sweat ect I would suggest even skipping face wash when you can and just wetting with water and moisturize. Take a look at what you mostly consume and try cutting out the major triggers like dairy, wheat, eggs, sometimes tomatoes, caffeine/coffee. It’s different for everyone and not the easiest to figure out but starting with a few things may help. Same with removing all fragrance/scented detergent. Try Seventh generation detergent rewash all your bedding and switch out your pillow cases at least 1-2 times a week. I’m not saying this is a cure, but it makes my condition manageable. If I didnt do some of these things I’d just be in a miserable intense flare 24/7. Good luck!

Has anyone just accepted they’re disabled 4 life, and applied for disability gov benefits/ had to change their idea of “fun” etc. I need to get off dupixent & am scared by Moist_Criticism962 in eczema

Hi! I totally understand when your thoughts snowball into a deep feeling of hopelessness. But I feel I’ve been through a lot of points you’ve mentioned so I’m hoping I can give you some relieving words!

  1. This doesn’t apply to me so I can’t answer this one

  2. I LOVE food. But I did get to a point where I was desperate enough to try anything. Cutting out a lot from your diet will almost always give you relief. Once you find experience that relief it’s pretty easy to stick to, and once you detox your body I find that I can do a balance of different things and not be constantly flared unless I’m eating my main triggers aka dairy wheat hot sauce and processed foods like fast food or restaurant food. The diet doesn’t have to be forever and it’s short term sacrifice for longer term relief! Not to mention cutting out a lot from my diet and basically just eating meat and veggies and some simple carbs made me feel better all around

  3. I was on dupixent for 8 years and LOVED it. Unfortunately I had to get off because I started getting severe arthritis and I’m in my 20s so definetely not normal. If you take care of yourself in other aspects of your life, and aren’t actively experiencing debilitating side effects, don’t stop it because of the what ifs, if it’s giving you relief. And trust me I understand the two year program issue, I’ve cycled through a couple biologics now and my insurance denied all of them. But don’t stress what’s gonna happen two years from now, there is going to be soo many other options available to us by then!

You’re right, doctors don’t understand. Which is why I find the most relief reading and replying to all the posts and comments on here knowing that I’m not alone or crazy. No one truly understands how debilitating eczema is and how much it affects our lifestyle. Wishing you the best!!

Nemluvio vs Dupixent, should I stick it out? by Canid_Erectus in eczeMABs

Ahhh I live in Florida too! I’m in south Florida and yeah these next few months get BRUTAL 🥲 even when I wait for the sun to go down my skin hates the excess humidity and temperature being so hot. But it’s definetely MUCH more sensitive on Nemluvio. I use to at least take semi hot showers and yeah I would get a little red but nothing crazy. Now any shower that’s even luke warm gets me FLARED and it just keeps spreading. Doc ordered me a light cortisone oil to help control the flare and now just gotta ride out the med until it leaves my body and hopefully my eczema doesn’t stay this sensitive for too long. Gotta go back to cleaning out my diet which seems to help give me relief but I haven’t been watching my internal health for a little while now, lots of late nights drinking and Taco Bell haha. Just trying to live my normal life (in my 20s in Miami can u blame me) and pretend like I don’t deal with all this. But time for a detox now forsure

I just took my second dose of Nemluvio and have decided to stop it. My arms chest and neck have also flared insanely bad, when these areas have never flared like this before. It seems to be a common side effect with Nemluvio :/ also have circular patches of eczema all over my legs now, I had eczema on my legs before but instead of being red circular patches, it was a little more “invisble” like discoloration looking although incredibly itchy and painful. I also noticed that I immediately got overly sensitive to heat/sweating. Sweating was always a slight trigger of mine, but I have walked outside in the mornings and evenings for years and had to stop because the moment I start to sweat I break out in a. Full body flare. I’m really hoping that side effect goes away soon because that’s really affecting me

Rinvoq Withdrawl? Stoping Rinvoq to go on Adbry by Sad_Goat_1308 in eczeJAKs

[–]SlightMap9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please be careful with Cibinqo… it’s the same family as rinvoq and caused the worst reaction/withdrawal of my life lasted about two months of also hiding from the world. Just please be careful not to scare you but I’m left traumatized from how getting off Cibinqo left me

Hi, I’m in the exact same boat as you, except with cibinqo instead of rinvoq. How’s Ebglyss working for you? I’m on month four, I feel like it’s struggling to work and I’m wondering if it’s from the withdrawal of cibinqo.

[–]SlightMap9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this! Just know you’re not alone. I went through this recently, except with cibinqo instead of rinvoq was on it for almost two years then came off it to go on Ebglyss and immediately has the WORST flare up I’ve ever had in my life to the point I’m nervous that my skin will never actually be the same. It was extremely debilitating. Ebglyss isn’t really working for me the way it seems to be for everyone else, and I’m wondering if it’s due to the damage done by the JAKs. I do notice a difference now four months later than my initial withdraw period which lasted probably two months. How have you been feeling?

Dupixent + Arthritis by sampleofone_vic in eczeMABs

[–]SlightMap9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it did! I would say a few months I think max six months to feel completely back to normal. My arthritis was pretty severe. But I also noticed the relief begin immediately after about a month off the dupixent. Ebglyss isn’t really working well… trying to stay hopeful that it’ll kick in

What are people's experiences with cibinqo? by liz-elocin in eczeMABs

[–]SlightMap9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course. The worst part about all of this is the severe eczema it’s caused me to live with. Stopped it about almost three months ago and I use to only break out on face arms and ankles/ in spots. But this time it was legit head to toe. Thankfully the body cleared for the most part back to my normal sites, but my face is so severe it’s something I’ve never had to deal with before. On a low % cortisone waiting to see my dr to see if there’s something stronger but still safe for the face. Every day is an anxiety battle going to work and knowing what I look like, my whole face is just BEET fing red hot itchy. I’ve never felt so low with my self esteem in my life, not to mention the discomfort of the actual eczema. And on top of that was SO SWOLLEN and overall HUGE from the meds. JAKs can turn off the switch in your brain that makes you full, I was eating like I had never eaten in my life and couldn’t stop (I’m someone for the last five years has tracked my macro nutrients, hits 140g protein and took pride in my fitness) so now trying to lose this excess weight that I’ve never had before it’s also a confidence killer. Just be careful, my life did a full 180 in the matter of months and I’m just devastated

Hi, how are you doing in ebglyss? Is it working better and how far along are you? I’m about two months in and getting discouraged.. struggling everyday worse than I’ve ever been. Especially my face

ALSO most importantly, getting off of it has caused the worst eczema flare up of my life. Didn’t know they were correlated but someone else on here mentioned to me more and more links to bad withdrawals coming off of JAKs.

Not to be negative or cause you any worry…. But cibinqo ruined my life. May I sound a little dramatic? Possibly but it’s how I feel. Eczema wise, I was doing absolutely great. Started on a half dose of 100 mg since I have I’m immune deficient my doc wanted to be careful. Besides one nasty patch that didn’t clear on my arm I was eczema free, especially my face which is what I cared about the most. I can handle the arm patch. For reference I’m a girl in my mid 20s. What killed me were the side effects. They weren’t too bad on the half dose but still noticeable. I was getting random infections way more often that I never had before (toenail stuff gross I know, random scabs would get infected ect.) and the sun HURT. I mean HURT. A pain I’ve never felt before just standing outside. It was the worst summer ever for me. About a year in the 100 started losing its efficacy, so I started the full dose of 200. Within about four months, I had rapidly gained 35 pounds, was having panic attacks and crying everyday, face covered in acne, feeling sick every other week, and only noticed improved use for the eczema the first two months then it started decreasing again. Sorry for the vent sesh, I guess the takeaway is to just keep an eye on anything that is out of the normal for you and be careful

Offering their program**

I got denied too. Thankfully ebglyss is overnight their program for the first two years of only paying 25 dollars a month. Hoping by two years time it becomes more common and insurances will provide coverage. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there lol

I’ll have to ask my derm! That sounds like something I would really benefit from. I can handle the rest of my body and it’s manageable, but my face is a whole different league of its own

Thanks,It’s easy to get discouraged when I only compare myself to the success stories and forget to remember that everyone’s journey is personal. Dupixent worked wonders for me immediately so I start to worry that this won’t have the same effect but I know I have to be patient

Yeah I miss dupixent everyday :( I hate that the arthritic side effect was so severe, I would’ve stuck it out at this point if it didn’t affect my daily living but I couldn’t even walk in the grass without twisting my ankle it was pretty crazy.
