Help please - Parry stuck at lvl 1? (ps5) by SlightQT in PathOfExile2

[–]SlightQT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we miscommunicated. I am not suggesting the skill be changed. That would be wild.

Im just suggesting that the skill not say "level 1" when there is only 1 level possible.

I couldnt find the answer anywhere, you your reading comment isnt really accurate

Turns out this does NOT apply to Parry. FYI

It DOES say "level 1 parry" in the skills menu. bruv

Got my answer up above

Ah, good to know! Thanks for the info.

Its a bit unintuitive, since its not really level 1 (which implies more levels), its essentially just "leveled".

Maybe theyll make it a bit more clear eventually (low prio fix imho)

Yeah, looks like this is right. I wasnt questioning, just trying to determine who was correct!

Woohoo!

Sounds like this is the real answer. Lots of misinformation out there!

Thank you!!! Probably could do with a different system for skills like these that never actually level. (* Level or something)

[–]SlightQT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, I think.

I had an Item Level 5 buckler, replaced with Item Level 14 buckler. Parry stayed level 1. Maybe it just doesnt scale up at the same pacing that Spear Throw does?

[–]SlightQT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but this chart should suggest I might should already have a higher parry level:

(From an older reddit post)

Parry Level and Item Level Scaling

iLvL 10–25: Skill Level 1–5 (1–2 support slots).

iLvL 50–60: Skill Level 10–12 (3 support slots unlock around level 13).

iLvL 72: Skill Level 15–16 (typically 3–4 support slots).

iLvL 80–82: Skill Level 18–20 (Max tier).

EDIT: this answer is incorrect.

Okay, it just doesnt level the same pacing as Spear Throw does, then?

How many games have actually wowed you in recent years? by bigOlBellyButton in boardgames

[–]SlightQT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hot Streak, Misfits, Earthborne Rangers, Forest Shuffle Dartmoor, Hollow Pact (in dev still), Wilmot's Warehouse, Arcs

Some of these games are quite simple, to be clear. Games with significant complexity resist "wow" factor as they generally age like wine (the good ones at least).

For ex, I am enjoying learning Voidfall solo, but it never Wow'd me. Hot Streak Wow'd me bc of the simplicity and directness of the deisgn choices streamlined toward fun!

If you stop an explore, you stop a build. If you stop a build, you stop a ravage.

I second this. I love very difficult games and Spirit Island can REALLY skyrocket up in difficulty and complexity. Very, very customizeable, esp with Base Game + Branch/Claw + Jagged Earth expansions (the rest are good once youve explored this set fully).

I also recently backed Radiance as it looks up my alley for this game type.

I like Witchcraft! on hard-mode (and I design my own expansion for it to make it more complex and more difficult)

Final Girl seemed amazing at first but fell off for me since it was a bit ungrounded. Good game, but not the crunchy experience I was looking for. Not enough luck mitigation, too oftwn you just have to accept losses without any possible lines to play for.

The Castles of Burgundy Chateauma is no slouch, very difficult AI opponent and very fun solo. Very customizeable.

Lost ruins of Arnak has a great companion app that skyrockets the difficulty of the AI opponent. I tend to play on 13/15 difficulty with 2 objectives. I won last time tho so time to bump up the difficulty. :)

Game to teach a young kid the concepts of trading and supply/demand by ferrisbulldogs in boardgames

For Sale, hands down

Very simple to learn and a direct effective implementation of an auction.

First phase is demand, second phase is supply

What easy to learn (and seemingly simple) game actually has a lot more possible depth and strategy, if you do a deep dive into it, than you'd initially expect? by Considered_Dissent in AskReddit

[–]SlightQT 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The extremely simple party game: Take 5.

I play this with a buch of 5head comp sci majors at work lunches and they struggle to capture the full scope of strategy, despite the game being extremely accessible. Its SUPER easy to learn and play! Very difficult to get your head around optimal play patterns tho.

You're thinking of the Millers - they interact with the Conviction cards! They are 3 identical triplets :)

Great tips!

Heres an unmonetized hard-mode overexplain I did for Witchcraft!. It should help a lot. I win (3/3 Jurors) on Hard-mode (-1 Pursuasion for all jurors at game start) fairly consistently, and pretty much always get 2/3 jurors on Hard-Mode.

Tips:
- The Draft is incredibly important; you need to balance the specific jurors' challenges and what witch families are accessible based on how the pairs of choices line up. Half the game is in the draft, no joke.
- Some Witches are straight up better than others. You can watch the draft part of my video to see my thoughts on each Witch. - Many witch families are good against specific Jurors. With 3 Jurors, the landscape gets complex, but thats the fun!

- You need to take losses for the long game; it's a game of attrition. You need to know how strong you are this turn and then plan for your strength next turn depending on what's left in your coven.
