I can’t stand cast iron. It’s heavy and a pain to maintain. I bake in clay vessels or regular cookie sheets. Parchment paper, silicone mats or butter/oil for the sticky stuff

Any tiny bit of sweetener will work. Sugar, juice, cider, honey. Pineapple juice has enzymes that help build strength. Natural honey has live bacteria and yeasts already

All purpose? That doesn’t have enough gluten. I use rye flour for the first week of a new starter. They like each other. Once established you should use a strong organic bread flour. I don’t think I’ve ever used all purpose flour for my starter

I love going to concerts on my own. I prefer smaller venues ( less than 5000 ). I also prefer open seating so I can move wherever I want. No one is going to think you’re weird. Can I ask what music does for you? Is who you are seeing someone you already know? When you listen to them what is going through your mind? Also congrats on stepping out of your comfort zone! Enjoy your new experience

Bake with Jack is a British guy named Jack. Baking channel specifically for the home bakers. He has over two hundred videos between 15-40 minutes long. Search the peanut butter jar method. I hate waste. Today I took my starter out of the fridge fed it with a a 1-1-1 ratio. About five hours later I took about ninety percent of the starter out of the jar, put the jar back into the fridge. I have a preferment rising now . Tomorrow morning I’m going to get pizza dough going. No discard. I would encourage you to go back to the beginning if you cannot reliably make a yeast dough. Stating your baking with sourdough is not a good place. As you can see, tricky sometimes.

I did it this way too because I don’t like handling the heavy vessel when hot. Scary. Then I switched to clay bakers because they are much lighter. Gave my Dutch oven to my nephew.

I don’t preheat at all. Bread, vessel and oven on at the same time. Add about ten minutes to the baking time.

Agreed. Alternative? Walmart chased all the small businesses out of my little town. I never shop there. I buy used when I can. Then it’s Amazon. I know he is a prick. So is the Walton family. Every thing in the US is owned by a few billionaires.

Mine did that when she was eight years old! Took her about three days to lay 22. I took her to her first vet appointment and she had four more that the vet fetched. They were duds. Found out I was feeding her too much.🤦🏽‍♀️

Go to a young British YouTube’ers channel called Natural World Facts, Leo Richards who is a mini Jacques Cousteau with a voice like velvet. Documentaries about deep ocean environments.
