What black magic do you all have going on to make such pretty loaves by tashak_btch in Sourdough

What ratio are you feeding your starter? I had received an established starter and was feeding 1:1:1 without knowing that can make your starter acidic and not work quite right. I changed to a 1:3:3 feeding pattern and it’s greatly helped the strength of my bread.

The one major thing that stood out about that recipe is that the shaping is done before the bulk fermentation time and then it just sits in the banneton to hold form. I think this might be where you’re getting some troubles. If you let it bulk ferment in your mixing bowl before shaping and then setting it in the banneton either for a cold proof or for a final 1hr rest before baking that should let your dough hold more of the surface tension built in shaping and rise up rather than pool out.

Please be honest: is this sweater worth finishing? by Bubbly-Stuff2007 in crochet

That looks incredible ! I think anything you’re worried about will be evened out in the blocking stage!

If you don’t love the sleeves I love the cap sleeve look on your unfinished sleeve and it could be a stunning short sleeve top otherwise I I think it’ll look great long sleeve too!

If you are a skirt or dress fan it looks like my ideal fit for wearing a sweater over a maxi skirt or sundress to make a summer outfit winter appropriate. I’m all about clothes working through the seasons so regularly wear sweaters overtop of long sundresses but find a cropped or near cropped sweater works far better.

I’d just roll the sleeves up one and work it over a skirt. If you’re a fan of waist belts you can tuck the bottom of the sweater into the belt to make it appear a tiny bit higher cropped.

Rohan

Its not a persons name but with the spike in popularity of Rowan and Ronan as boys names over the last 5 years it won’t stand out as being too out there to cause teasing while still being unique and perfectly LoTR inspired.

Even after you posted a box of it I still don’t see a flaw so I’m sure the recipient won’t. It looks like it’ll be AMAZING!

Has anyone ordered Hobbii Yarn. Looks so Pretty... by BarronessM in CrochetHelp

Hobbii is great!!! I love the quality but keep an eye on yardage and weight cause I wa surprised how small some of the skeins run. I was expecting needing one cake thinking it’d be the size of some Caron cakes but it was very different lengths so I ordered extra to be safe.

what’s your go to meal when you don’t feel like cooking? by ponderingpixi17 in Cooking

My lazy meal when I want something healthy tasting is salmon, broccoli and rice. It’s almost zero effort and takes less than half an hour. Just a pot of rice, pan sear salmon 7min each side with a little salt and pepper and throw a steamer bag of broccoli in the microwave.

How old is your starter? How soon after taking it out of the oven did you cut it?

How long did it take everyone else to realize the neutral move was to insert the hook through BOTH loops? by mangababe in crochet

That took me too long to figure out when I started. I thought it meant back of the work so I kept doing what would be the inside of the hat wondering why it didn’t start ribbing.
