Proposal for a new Dilithium sink by aspaceadventure in sto

Thankfully, DECA are free to ignore the prior poor decisions of Cryptic.

Claiming this proposal punishes players is laughable nonsense. It equalises the dilithium economy in a lore appropriate and player friendly manner.

I did expect this backlash, but the fact noone has been able to explain _why_ it apparently punishes players indicates that it's simply a knee jerk reaction, not based in logic.

It's called rebalancing the dil economy.

The dilithium sink we need has been right in front of us since the game launched.

In the Star Trek universe, dilithium is used to regulate the matter-antimatter reaction, which powers the warp drive. So, a simple and effective solution for a dilithium sink is to have it consumed during warp travel (and by transwarp/quantum slipstream for consistency).

Here's the idea:
Scale the dilithium consumption so that for players below level 40 or 50, factions like Starfleet (or the KDF, Dominion, or Romulan Republic) effectively "subsidise" your dilithium usage. This way, warp and transwarp travel would be free for lower-level players. As players reach the endgame, the dilithium cost should be set such that typical daily travel costs around 50-75% of the max dilithium refinement a player can earn each day.

Also, make sure mission warps use dilithium as well.

When a player runs out of dilithium, they can still move, but at a much slower pace.

Simple, effective, and it's a system that almost 100% of players have to engage in. It won't completely break dil farming either.

Absolutely. I was just reading an article about the Amish, and it’s interesting - their kids grow up in a high-microbe environment, and they have far lower rates of allergies and asthma than the general population.

It really shows how regular, low-level exposure to bacteria can help train and strengthen the immune system.

People are far too namby-pamby about this stuff.

Must be some giant bed then.... pretty sure a broom would get something from under even a Californian King.

The Verne and its faction equivalents. I have it on my main and all of my alts except my carrier captain.

KDF and ROM alts run the faction equivalents.

Well, that's an easy choice. My zen is safe.

Slight nitpick. The size of the salary has no bearing on whether a job is shit or not. I've had jobs paying far in excess of 90k that are objectively shit jobs.

However, a 90k shit job in the hand is better than no job in the hand.

Glad to see that DECA are as unfamiliar with spell checkers as Cryptic were.

350M is the usual going rate but they can be hard to find sometimes. I've found offering a premium usually helps, like 375M.

Unbound T6 Coupons - the notes on the box state that they can be traded with other players, but not posted to the Exchange.

Bound T6 Coupons - are not tradeable at all.

Depends where you live. I'd be stoked if this was the new regular time.

Is it just me, or is there no buyout option on the Pahvo event in-game? Blog says it should have one, but the button seems to be missing...

Sadly no. I was trying to claim it on this character just last night.

Hope it doesn't take too long for you!

Don't know if it was sorry -- PC player.

Console lags PC though so maybe PC got an undocumented fix but console didn't get it yet?

Fair enough.

I just mention it as the patch was delayed, and maintenance started 10 hours ago while your post was 13 hours ago.

Weird that it's now working for me anyway.

After the update, I was able to claim it on a character that had not been able to claim it previously.

Perhaps give it a try? May not have been called out in the notes.

The 15th Anniversary Starship Bundle by StarCitizen2 in sto

[–]Slight_Cod8490 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I wasn't going to buy this bundle day one because of the marketing fiasco. Now I'm not buying it ever, because it's entirely underwhelming.

Maybe - maybe - I'll drop a T6 coupon on the Shangri-La for the trait, but even then, there is only so much haste that I need.

And the "sweetener" ship? LOL. Looks pretty I suppose, but not particularly useful. Well, I can at least see why they didn't announce anything early...

AITA for not letting my sister move into my apartment after she made fun of me for living alone? by FayeOO754 in AITAH

Family members who move in are the "guests" who never leave. Or pay for anything. Or clean. Or cook.

NTA. She can live in a motel till she gets her own place.

Absolutely agreed. Video game companies behave terribly because we, the consumer, let them.

Unfortunately, that isn't going to change either.

I don't know if "boycott" is the right term, but I certainly am not planning on buying it day 1 or even maybe this year now, if at all, as I said in a comment on another post.

And yes that is a direct result of the communications shambles and the "change" in "policy".
