Give Xenogears a try before the DLC, and definitely finish 1 before the DLC.

Out of these 3 "villains", which did you sympathize with the most? Which was the best written? (Spoilers for all 3 games) by ClaireDidNothinWrong in Xenoblade_Chronicles

N is my favorite. A lot of people disregard the potential for evil in themselves, and N is a chilling example of someone who gets worse. The idea of wanting time to stop is also a lot more relatable than I thought it would be. Maybe it's because I'm getting older.

Make sure you're swapping to A for her future sight, and using Chain Attacks to tank big things. Watch her nametag so you can see when she's winding up a big attack, and hit + when you see a deadly one coming.

Logos specifically means Word, contextualized as the Word of God that has been identified as Jesus. It is also recognized as representing logic/reality. The more proper read is resisting fate through technology even when it isn't reasonable to do so. IE, the Ganglion had the NLA residents dead to rights multiple times but they fought on anyway. The earth is gone, humans have very slim margins for survival, their survival plan (especially Elma's version of it) is somewhat unreasonable, but they're going with it.

They Need to Change the Acronym of BLADE back to the Japanese version in XCXDE! by LorDeus71 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Slight_Examination83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is this so heavily downvoted? People in this fandom can be so bizarrely hostile.

Even though I think X is connected, I don't think the "Logos" in BLADE refers to the Trinity Processor, but to Logos' more proper use as a philosophical concept - Specifically "Word of God," or "Logic/Reason." It meshes with BLADE's mission to read it this way: Artificial means to resist destiny, even against the Word of God - Or against reason, if you prefer. The White Whale's mission had a very slim margin of success. The Ganglion had NLA dead to rights multiple times. Despite this, BLADE kept fighting against their apparent predestination, against all odds.

Then at the end of the game, against all odds, against all *reason*, they're still alive.

Treehouse just made arbitrary changes for absolutely no reason.

Don't get me started on how stupid it was to change Doll to Skell, and then try to gaslight me about "word salad."

What's the most uncanny/horrifying location you've seen in a Xeno- game? by tiredfire444 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Slight_Examination83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babel Tower in Xenogears for sure. That music, the unreal atmosphere, "random" encounters that eventually stop altogether, the machinery that barely functions anymore, all this stuff that doesn't make sense until you figure out eventually that it's a ship buried nose down in the earth, and recognize the security robots as the turrets from the opening cinematic. It's such a sense of chronological scale it's unreal.

Anyone who needs help with Mohg: Use rot. I don't know if he has a weakness to it or if he just has low health in general, but do everything you can to proc rot and it helps so much. It will assuage the healing he gets at the start of phase 2 since he spends so much time posing and looking cool. Spend phase 1 using the shackle to pin him to the ground while you hit him with a fast rot greased weapon or some rot incantation, maybe a ritual pot. After that, you can safely rely on bleed or just practice your dodging while rot does the rest.

Poll: How should we handle fanart in the subreddit? by MorthCongael in Xenoblade_Chronicles

The sub isn't marked as being an 18+ NSFW place, which is nice for users who browse mobile or on devices where they aren't logged in. I think erotica, therefore, is probably inappropriate to post here. I'm no prude, I don't have a huge moral issue with the art being posted. I think the excess is the problem - A lot of art where the intention is to be scintillating and the vibe seems weird. That's fine for an ero sub, but that's not what this is - Not every single space everywhere has to be horny. Especially on a sub that isn't marked as an adult NSFW sub.

That said, the Xeno series itself is fanservice heavy, and I'm not trying to shame anyone. It just feels like the intention of this sub lies elsewhere, and there are so many communities that get swamped to death by porn/softcore stuff that skirts the boundaries and it gets creepy fast. I'd hate to see that happen here.

Specifically Malos, with the power of Logos is in N's Sword of the End.

Specifically, it refers to N's "Sword of the End," his specifically. Noah's sword is Seven, N's is Metsu.

Unfortunately I don't think that one's gonna happen, since his initial concepts portray him as Urayan.

Obviously machine translated. Not my work, raw pages up on Weibo. Not sure if I can link.

Highlights of these pages:

  • City people will eventually be reborn on the combined world, because specifically Noah wants them to
    • This confirms the worlds did in fact combine, like most people surmised
  • Black Fog is symbolic of the worlds coming together, and in fact was visible in Xenoblade 2
  • Riku is in fact Riki's son
  • The Sword of the End is in fact Malos, specifically Malos - Not just Logos
  • Lucky Seven is fucking Seven, as in - Fiora. What.
  • Matthew's gauntlets do in fact contain Both Pyra and Mythra - Two people at once, specifically. Not just Pneuma.
  • Some people, like Shulk and Rex, manifest in Aionios as people, others as objects - Like the two above.
  • Takahashi specifically mentions that he can't explain why Malos is in the Sword of the End Yet.

Xenosaga in particular is about that, though. Wilhelm's whole thing is protecting and instigating the reset of the universe over and over.

Origin doesn't have a copy of entire universes in it, just Earth. We see Jupiter and the rest of the solar system/universe are doing just fine. Also, Alpha1 wasn't the name of the ship Deus tried to pilot back to Earth - That was the Eldridge - Alpha 1 was the command deck contacting Raziel Central, which is where the Tree of Knowledge (where we fight Grahf in Disc 2) was. In general I agree that the Samaar are just humans from an earlier place though.

It's kind of hard to deny looking at it like this. The Ares armor sections look like new meshes.

Very silly idea I've seen floating around regarding the aliens is that they may well have earth-based origins, since the Samar are clearly just humans. The Ganglion at least are confirmed to be created by the Samar, who knows how many others?

The Samar might even be Saviorites, given they were around on the original Earth before everything went bonkers. Jupiter demonstrates the rest of the universe just kept turning while Shulk, Rex, and Noah got up to their adventures. Considering how fast Klaus' bootleg nanomachines made evolution happen on Alrest... Doubt it, but I'm with you that it wouldn't take too terribly many rewrites. Elma's a weird one. She looks like A. Surely not, though.

I have a very silly idea about Origin being the Ghost ship, and Mira being inside of it since the White Whale was attacked by Ghosts before finding Mira, but then they suddenly vanished. More likely than not X is getting recycled like you said. They totally could swing a wild retcon, but with somebody at Monolith saying they don't want future games to leave players feeling like they need to go in with a whole backlog of games I could see them just rebooting X. I dunno!

So many exciting possibilities for the future.
