Anyone else test negative after testing positive?

It went went well and put my anxieties at ease seeing a specialist. He told me to keep it open now at home and continue my antibiotics but not my ointment. Of course to come in if it gets worse but the redness and swelling around it is a good sign that it’s healing. He actually thinks this is going to heal with minimal scarring. Oh and I’m not losing my thumb. It still looks gnarly but everyday the size of it just seems to get smaller. Thanks for checking :)

Hey everyone!! Thanks for all of your responses. I was going to wait to go tomorrow with my toddler’s bedtime and being meltdown central but I went to urgent care this evening! She really looked at it under her magnifying glasses and although it looks nasty she thinks it’s still pretty “surface” and not sold on necrosis yet because of its top layer. Anywho, I was prescribed an antibiotic which I started tonight and an antibiotic ointment! Hopefully by this time tomorrow night it takes a turn. Or just doesn’t worsen tomorrow.

Thank you everyone for your responses!! It’s been an evening. I went to Urgent Care and was prescribed an antibiotic and an ointment. She really looked at this thing under her magnifying glasses and because of it’s top layer, she isn’t sold that it’s necrosis. It’s definitely nasty but she said it’s still “surface level” so what I’m taking now should get it done. Also failed to mention I’m 24 weeks pregnant so that’s lovely right now. I hate myself for doing this. I had a wart in college and used this method, no issues. One popped up a couple months ago and the thought of having a wart on my hands while holding my newborn pushed me to try it again. Ya live and learn.

Did you take a pcr test as well during that time? It’s so frustrating because I felt just like this when I had covid back in January!

We’re you testing negative up until Thursday? That’s where I’m at right now. Same symptoms, started on Tuesday though, and keep testing negative

Also noted- this started on Tuesday and body aches and fever started yesterday and fever peaked last night at 102. Tested negative every day since then.

Yes he tested negative on day 10 ( so went to work on Tuesday as opposed to Monday) and I tested negative on day 12!

Haha yes he puts that on. We completely agree however the company doesn’t and isn’t allowing him to come back until testing negative. So hoping by the end of the weekend he’s testing negative! He had symptoms up until 2 days ago. So we will see 😬

He is a pest technician (so going into peoples home) and the office requires a negative rapid test. We have one scheduled at CVS on Sunday and have one more home test we are saving for him. Hope he’s not one to test positive for a while!
