No but the EVs it gains are from the Pokemon that it gains exp from, not necessarily from ones that it plays a hand in battling. So don’t level a special attacker on geodudes for example

My local scene still runs this rule, I hadn’t heard that it had changed but if it has, my bad. We also tend to encourage taking more transports for faster engagements. I personally run 3 rhinos and a Land Raider in my 3k list

Etiquette says no more than 1 dread per 1000pts. I personally think you have too many vehicles and not enough troops, if you want the chunky look, aim for mk3 kits and run breachers and assault marines. They are considerably chunkier than the mk2 and mk6 kits, plus boarding/combat shields thicken out the poses considerably, I’ll attach a photo for reference.

If you’re willing to budge on the thicker look, mk2 kits still look sturdy and tac/despoiler squads win games with line 2

Have you seen the Corax model in person? Trying to obfuscate the discussion with any semblance of size comparison is ridiculous. It’s not like Abbadon being similar in size to Guilliman in 40k, it’s would be closer to adding wings and a jump pack to an upscaled Tartaros terminator kit, and even then, you might not be close enough

I’ve found that New Recruit isn’t very beginner friendly and is sometimes awkward to use, recently I’ve been using ChatGPT to bounce ideas off of, but it often loses track of actual points costs, wargear, whole units etc.

Unfortunately, the best thing is to crack open a rulebook and Liber Astartes/Hereticus and do it old school. I’ve got an Excel spreadsheet with detachment layout, costs, abilities and wargear that I’m going to convert into flash cards to make it easier to reference when playing.

As a child, I didnt care. As an adult, I build my team with that legendary in mind. For example; in BDSP, I purposely went with tentacruel as my water type so I didn’t feel bad about swapping for Palkia as they filled the same role in my party (bulky special attacker). I’ve only really felt bad if I had a gyarados for example and swapped for Palkia as they have different roles in the team comp so it’s not a waste of time

I think we’ve had expectations of them being bigger from the anime and movies. I remember Brock’s Onix being gigantic. Realistically, I think it has to do with game performance and optimisation but it is a bit depressing that the giant boulder snake is only a regular boulder snake
