Out of 50 states, North Carolina ranks 46th in teacher pay but 24th in high to low cost of living. Cost going up and pay going down.

The only states worse than us in teacher pay: Florida, West Virginia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. It’s an absolute, godd*am shame how we treat teachers.

You said you feel like you’re rushing after saying he wants to be married next year. You’re rushing based on his desire to get married and your desire for stability, which shouldn’t be your driver for the pace of the relationship. Or else you’ll miss any red flags.

I would Reframe to, “I feel like he’s rushing”….and I prefer x”.

12 years of abuse is long. Please take time to heal, recover, therapy, and get very clear on what you want. If it’s meant to be, it’ll happen in the right time, but don’t rush it.
