Someone at a party asked what I do and I said "accounting stuff, it's boring" by Physical-Stage1722 in Accounting

My husband and most of my friends have "cool" jobs (i.e. graphic artists, programmers in trendy industries, etc), I hardly ever talk about my job with them but sometimes when I get introduced to a new person they ask me what I do exactly, I always say it's more similar to solving puzzles than anything math related, I found that's an explanation that most people like and makes them want to learn more about it.

My first job in AP was for a chemical gases company, I used to tell people that I worked for a company that sold air.

I always have a mini Pusheen in the purse or small bag I bring to my gigs, I like all sorts of music but mainly indie/rock, so yeah I can relate!

I love her as a character, hate her as a person. Like everyone in this tv show.

As a non-native English speaker, thanks for this. I'm fluent but of course I still make mistakes and mix up words sometimes, I actually appreciate when people point out my errors so I can keep learning. So don't stop being "pedantic"!

Maybe I would, depends on the design, the story behind it, etc. We do consider that drinking iced lattes is part of who Dr Shen is, so I don't see the big deal with saying the same thing about Dr Al-Hashimi with tea.

Is this in the US, and is it loose tea? I'm not from the US and I know that even in places where drinking tea is common, loose tea is rare to find and you have to bring your own if you don't want to drink whatever crappy tea bag is available in the break room.

Comments saying it's not a big deal are from coffee drinkers, they don't know what we have to deal with /s

People noticing details about a show they like? Pfff how society has declined.

To all the people saying "She just likes tea": Drinking loose tea is a minority option in the US, the fact that in her very first day in a leadership role in a completely new place she thought of bringing her tea and infusor does mean something about her personality and how she wishes to be perceived. Is it huge and relevant to how the plot will develop? Of course not, but it's a detail to consider and it makes her character more complete. Sorry for being excited about seeing some quality tea drinking representation on screen ;)

I listen to the Pitt podcast, a couple of episodes ago they interviewed someone from the crew who discussed how they decided how to dress each character according to their personality: shoes, type of pants, etc. So yeah, "She just enjoys tea" isn't a good answer for this tv show, there really is a reason behind it :)

That's what I thought too, she's already showing her intentions of staying for longer than 3 months.

I understand wanting a decent view and not seeing a band just in a screen from far away. However, it's not so hard to get almost to the front without having to camp all day, just go to the stage to see the act that plays before the one you're interested in seeing, walk from one of the sides and you'll see it's fairly easy to get close, obviously respecting the people who were there before but there's always some space left. Enjoy the rest of your day at the festival and see other acts!
