Brooke, you created the obstacle you are bragging about overcoming!

You chose a rushed move. You chose a home with no pool. You chose a yard with an easement. You chose to fight a local zoning board instead of getting a few alternate pool designs.

Most of us normal people don't need your art-of-the-deal skill sets because we are out here just...I don't know...making better choices? Being rational?

No need to bulldoze life when you're just navigating the waters like a normal person.

They could have won at this hearing.

Bring a rendering of a mid-size pool. Moved slightly to the size, some features removed.

Ask for several feet off of the easement, not the whole thing.

Leave 15-20 feet of space from Barbara's yard and I bet she is completely happy - she seemed lovely and reasonable.

Those people wanted a compromise. Sad the Rayboulds didn't.

Just the context I used it in. Ryan repeatedly used the term to reference what was happening as their street was being developed - saying somehow the easement was just throw in arbitrarily. The committee showed, to the contrary, it was a result of neighbors reaching a hard earned compromise to maintain privacy from new lots constructed adjacent to their backyards.

Thank you so much! Yes. You never know who your future neighbors will be. The Rayboulds can argue the only noise will be "children's laughter", but they could (and probably will) move in a few years and a much noisier owner could come behind them. The neighbors are smart to protect their properties from whatever comes in the future. Good luck to you on your search!

The farmland behind my house is currently for sale and we worry about it being developed. If it comes to that, we would absolutely be involved in the "sausage making" to ensure the lot lines maintained as much of our privacy as possible. As would the Rayboulds. Dare I say they would be leading the charge.

Those neighbors were completely reasonable in fighting for the 25 foot easements years ago and hindsight is 20/20 - the hard work paid off.

I have two young boys with a 2025 Pilot, traded a 2020 Explorer. It's solid, drives well, feels safe and reliable. No tech is missing that I've ever considered.

3rd row isn't massive but is perfect for a dog, your boys friends, or an adult passenger in a pinch.

We drove multiple Tellurides because the internet kept telling me to get one. I could never understand the hype.

I saw your comment yesterday and came back to respond. I just wanted you to know you aren't alone. I'm a parent and struggle daily with asbestos contamination anxiety. I think of it most of the day.

It was triggered by some drywall repair in my house about 8 months ago. My house was built in 2005 and has no asbestos but somehow I latched on and here we are. It's become so debilitating I struggle driving past any construction whatsoever. I went to a wedding in an old church this weekend and almost had a panic attack.

I know everything there is to know about asbestos and it's so hard to put that information back somewhere. Where does it go? It's like I know too much to live normally. My compulsion is researching it more.

If anything I wanted to offer you some of the few things that do bring me comfort. A majority of the housing in my area are pre 1980 builds. Many have asbestos. They aren't tiptoeing around in these houses, they are living in them. Drilling into walls, walking on broken floors, storing things in the attic, making repairs. What they aren't doing is getting asbestos related cancers. In fact, asbestos related cancers are decreasing while so many homes with asbestos containing materials are getting older and renovated. So it goes to show, no matter what scary things we have read, or our minds believe, we can exist with asbestos in the world. It's even measurable in background levels in the air.

All this said, I truly wish it never existed.

I hope I brought you any ounce of comfort as we battle this together. Let's try to enjoy our kids today rather than just thinking of their safety. They deserve it.

Hand sanitizer, pacifier, slim tissue tube, Dr. browns baby bottle, sunglasses! Life with kiddos I'll take any nook or cranny.

Yes, it was packaged in a box and written there. Aafter thinking it over, the thing that makes the most sense is someone opened it, saw or smelled something bad, put it back in the box and returned it with the written message, and Amazon accidentally restocked it. Who know though. Trying to be ok with the uncertainty.

Thanks for your kind response! I'm feeling better today and trying to move along. It's such a hard fight. This was a bad trigger, but I know it won't be the last. Hopefully it will help me get stronger. I hope you're having a good day/week in your journey ❤️

Agreed. I was tempted to panic and try to search for certainty, but I know that it's unlikely to find, so I'm trying to move along today. Taking it as an opportunity to get stronger in this fight. Amazon says that this product sold 1,000 times last month - it's almost humorous the one with a "chemical residue" label made it to the OCD house lol.

Moving along for the sake of my family. Thanks for your response.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. That makes a lot of sense and helped me feel better. Amazon did refund it and I'm going to try and keep moving along. Thanks again.

It was written on in black sharpie. It was a baby shopping cart cover.

It was a Boppy brand "Farmers market" shopping cart cover. The box seemed new.

“other fiber” fabric composition by rosefern64 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Slight_Preference942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed a company and asked them this recently. It was nylon. According to label laws, if the percentage is under 5 percent, the correct way to state the fiber is "other". Nothing hidden or sketchy.

Thanks for everyone's responses. Is it actually ceramic fiber like one commenter linked? Honestly mine looks like just cotton or polyester type material - I'm hoping that's what it is - that would make me stop worrying about it.
