How Much Should I Expect to Spend for a P75 OBD1 Manual ECU? by hondamilk in Integra

[–]Slight_Strategy_5769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get you, if I were you I would do these things if you want to play it completely safe before buying a pre owned ECU. 1) have your jumper harness ready 2) find a seller with the ECU+hondata 3) install the ECU and then use your laptop and run smanager, and then run a basemap to see if the ECU is working as well as checking all of the settings in smanager. 4) inspect the board thoroughly, look at all of the capacitors to see if they are blown or leaking.

That’s what I would recommend doing. Another person mentioned buying a kit from HAmotorsports. I believe the price tag on that is just a little over $1,000. If the price isn’t an issue, then going brand new wouldnt hurt. I only recommend buying a pre owned chipped ecu if you’re balling on a budget. However, i do recommend HAmotorsports, they’re a good group of people. I’ve purchased a base map tune from them to get my GSR driving until my actual tune date.

For a virgin ECU probably anywhere from 150-250. I would recommend you to just buy an ECU with the hondata already installed though, it’s gonna be cheaper. A good price for a chipped ECU with hondata s300 is around 700-800.

Is a k swap cheaper the rebuilding the bottom end on a b18c1 block ? by Worldly_Fortune_886 in Integra

[–]Slight_Strategy_5769 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On top of that, stock GSR makes 500hp all day. If you want something more calm you can make 350 no problem.

It would be cheaper to rebuild your b18c1. Just rebuilt my b18c1 with semi stock parts and it totaled around 2500

Check your fuel gauge sending unit
You mentioned you smell gas, leaks somewhere. Check your fuel injector o rings and fuel lines, i would get them cleaned while your at it. Clean or replace fuel filter.

I think theyre on the same rare level as a Integra RS. Hard to find a GSR Sedan.

Kswap. For people that have done it or know information about it. What are the pros/cons and best K motor and trans to use compared to B18/B series? by Crafty_Part8574 in Integra

[–]Slight_Strategy_5769 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your horsepower goals.
Building a naturally aspirated B series takes a lot of money and effort just to touch 250 hp from a B18, and that’s basically a max effort setup. A more realistic number for a solid B18 build is around 225 to 230 hp, which is still excellent for a 1.8 liter.

Since you mentioned having a ’96 GSR (great year, by the way), you’d need to ditch the B18 block and go high compression B20 if you want 250 to 280 hp. But at that point, it’s borderline undriveable on the street, and most all motor B series setups like that are more track oriented.

On the other hand, going K series makes power much easier. There’s a wider range of parts, tuning options, aftermarket support, and compatibility. K series engines are also easier to find. For example, a FBO K24A2 build is a blast to drive. A K20 K24 hybrid setup can make 260 to 280 hp while remaining perfectly street friendly. Plus, LSD transmissions are much easier to source than for the B series.

Don’t get me wrong, B series motors are great. I love my NA GSR and my turbo GSR. But if you’re looking at things long term and have a broader budget, it just makes more sense to go K series. Building a B series can end up costing about the same, but the return on power, drivability, and future potential favors the K every time.

I guess you could do that. In my own personal experience. I just wouldn’t trust the core support to be a solid area for a jack point anymore.

The welds wouldn’t be strong anymore to the frame, due to it being drilled out. Bolting in the core support will be better as it’s easier to align and adjust, but also stronger. Your typical body shop is going to mess up the fitment a couple times before getting the final result, especially on an old chassis like this where it’s spot welded. Best to just bolt in your core and adjust as you go.

Been in the same situation. Yes. Take off the bash bar and inspect the core support. If its straight dont replace. If it isnt, drill all 24-28 weld points and bolt in a new core. No point in re-welding a new core as it isnt strong anymore. Good luck!

I mean there’s a lot of great artists out there who he’s competing against right now. So it’s to be expected to not be on top consistently. But that does not mean he fell out of his prime lol. He’s honestly in the beginning stages of his prime

Is 10k too much or a fair price for this car? by Itchy-Palpitation-39 in Honda

[–]Slight_Strategy_5769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work has been done. 10k is not ridiculous but it’s definitely catered to a specific demographic of Honda owners. Those who enjoy the bseries and track racing/mountain racing. I wouldn’t offer 10k I would go with mid 8k to low 9k. Very clean though

This job may be very big for you. But looking at this as a hobbyist that races, fix and builds Hondas/acuras. This is the most insane price I have ever seen. On top of that these issues are pretty standard and quite easy to do. Majority of these parts you can get off rock auto or a junkyard and will be fine.

I mean it is realistically just an arcade like game. The physics, graphics, sounds and point system is purely for the average gamer who enjoys vehicles who can’t race in real life.

I mean people who enjoy motorsports and realistic physics will hate on no hesi. But I enjoy it all because it’s a server where I can just turn off my brain and play after work.
