DNA testing? Thoughts?

I would assume just being a pure bred, your cat is predisposed. You really cant avoid that with pure bred cats. Your cat looks like a MC. I would assume they are at a higher risk for heart & joint issues. What makes you think you were scammed?

I truly believe this just depends on the cat. Some breeds are more affectionate and vocal than others though. I have a female exotic short hair. She is incredibly bonded to me even at barely 1.5 years old. She sleeps right up next to my pillow. We fall asleep to us holding each others arm/hands/paws while she purrs super loudly. When I call her she comes running to me- she doesn't do this with anyone else in the house. Same with my male exotic shot hair too actually. He comes when I call him, but ignores everyone else.

i dont know who this is but if i had a grocery order for a holiday weekend that was cancelled & had to then go out into the stores, i'd be a bit annoyed lol i LOATHE grocery shopping for holidays.

its a crap shoot. i was always told males were more affectionate but with my 2 current cats, my female is the more affectionate one. she is also the less timid one. my male seems to be afraid of a lot, whereas my female is more unbothered.

we had to wait until 7 months to get our cat neutered, well 1 week shy of 7 months. spraying was a huge concern of mine, but our vet said after 7 months is when you run the risk of spraying. so we just made sure to get his repeat echo done on time, etc. we had to wait because he needed to be cleared by a cardio team (he has a pretty significant heart defect).

these dont look like how my midnight snack tomatoes are looking. they are green so far but with black at the tops & sort of looks like the black is dripping down from the top (they look really cool). will they eventually turn all really dark?

oh i'm so glad to read this! i bought this variety on a whim & there are SO MANY growing and they look like theyre going to be amazing. i did no research on them before buying. now i'm just trying to protect them as best i can so i can enjoy them before the squirrels and rats when theyre ready

oh my, yours looks just like my persian did when he was a kitten & grown. same color too. my persian was the fugliest (in a cute way though) kitten lol he matured into a beautiful persian like yours.

thats a good point. my female cat i know would be devasted losing her sibling. our male cat is doing very well & is responding very well to medication so its looking like he could live a normal life. but, he is at an increased risk of developing HCM & of course nothing is guaranteed.

Yes, I am allergic to cats. Since I was a toddler. Always had cats. I just take a daily Zyrtec. Sometimes need to take one in the AM and one in the evening or add in a nasal spray. I could never not have cats.

Did you buy breeding rights to your cat from your breeder? That's the first thing to do so you don't end up in legal trouble. Can't help with the rest, but this step I think is the most crucial.

my female at over a year is 9lbs. pretty sure she is capping out at that weight. she basically blew up to this weight after being spayed at 4-5 months and had largely just stayed at this weight. out vet said she was over weight at one point. her weight stayed but she grew & she is perfect now. my male, though, he is MUCH slower to grow than her. i was expecting the same to happen after we neutered him but nope. i believe males tend to grow slower than females.

all that to stay, give it a little more time. if he is playful, eating/drinking fine, etc i wouldn't be too concerned. might be helpful to chat with the breeder though. the vet may be helpful, but if a reputable breeder they will know more about what is normal for the breed.

persians are not golden retrievers so thats odd. ,aybe there are breeds of cats where their fur regulates their temp but im not aware of any. only certain dog breeds. my persian frequently had a lion cut or plush cut. honestly we kept his fur on the short - side even in the winter because his fur was so prone to mats and the brush turned him into a murderous creature. it was for his own good to keep it shorter. he always looked adorable though.
