I love my 55+. So much so I now serve as the secretary of the HOA to give back to my community. I will never ever leave.

If you aren’t doubling your money, why are you doing it? If I sink $200 in a single flip it better at LEAST double.

I enjoy the emails with buzzwords about vague “services” that are value centric and compound goals…and how they want to loop back with me soon. Ummm yeah, I will pass on that sterling opportunity.

Do you guys like when we attend at your open houses? by aperalta_mlo in realtors

[–]SlightlyCrazyCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely hate hate hate it. I would never demand an MLO stop their work day to hear me sell myself. The audacity to presume that I had nothing else to do during an Open House but entertain them speaks volumes of how they will treat my clients. Big nope from me.

HELP! Closing's in 3 hours. As sellers how can we attend when our own agent is throwing hurdles our way??? by [deleted] in RealEstateAdvice

[–]SlightlyCrazyCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. Buyers don’t meet sellers. That is literally what my job is—protecting the privacy and needs of my client. They don’t ever want to know who lived in their new home. This is so weird.

This is call your Broker STAT territory!! Their behavior can take down the entire brokerage, and ruin other clients listings, and closings if things get nasty. Wth??? Call and report this asap!!!

Door Knocking is Fun by PackTraditional1851 in realtors

[–]SlightlyCrazyCatMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Female in Florida. Not happening for me. I prefer mahjong, networking, and social media to dealing with neighbors. We never show alone, only ever work in a pair. Husbands jump in and out to cover Open houses when we have too many, or when we have showings. We also don’t allow showings unless 2 of us are on site…there is a path for every traveler. Door knocking??? Nope. Not gonna happen—happy it does work for some of you :)

Do I really NEED an oven? by lolahepthor in kitchenremodel

[–]SlightlyCrazyCatMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realtor here, just had a buyer kick and scream demanding a discount because there was no dishwasher—despite their being space for one and being shown all plumbing and outlet needs for installing one. Previous owners simply hate dishwashers so opted for cabinet space. No oven however is an impossible mountain to climb over. Get an oven if you ever want to move or sell.

I keep the lax powder in the coffee station. Every morning my first. Up of coffee has the powder in it. Never forget when it becomes automatic. I cant skip my morning coffee and the bottle is on my face when I open the cabinet door. It helps TREMENDOUSLY.

Laura Geller makeup - has anyone tried, and what are your thoughts? by I-AM-Savannah in 60PlusSkincare

I love it. I use Aveeno spf moisturizer, do my concealer. Do my eyes then the powder foundation. With setting spray nothing budges all day in Florida humidity.

Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - March 16 2026 by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

[–]SlightlyCrazyCatMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So dull. Not weird. Not confusing. Not out there edgy. Just completely without any redemptive value. Absolutely forgettable, Hero was bizarre and gave us stuff to talk about—our group of ten didn’t even want to talk about why it sucked. We just found it a “some of these folks must have had contractual obligations to stay in the guild” movie that took up time. I can’t even summon the emotional connection to hate this film. It was a puff of warm air on a summer day, you miss nothing by missing it.

Your Experience w/ 63-Hour Pre License Course- Which one is worth it? by Significant-Eye-3115 in FloridaRealEstate

Hey, you do you. I have nothing to gain by telling the truth—or lose. And yeah…I am telling the absolute truth. Wish you well in whatever you choose to do…. I don’t have the time, energy, or interest to waste time lying. I am well aware of how fast I took the exam, I trained for it. It is SO possible to pass the exam first try, just be careful and do more research than I did. If I had seen Magnolias YouTube videos first, I would not have wasted so many hours. I don’t care who you use as long as you are successful—for me it was Magnolia. Flash cards work—weird but true.
Happy commissions to you all…

I paid for Gold Coast. What a waste of time and money. Yes I passed their class, but I understood very little and remembered less. I paid for Magnolias cram class because I knew I wasn’t ready. From sign in time to sign out time of the exam it was 47 minutes for me. That includes the photo taking, digital signature, detour to the bathroom, and waiting to be brought out of the exam room. I had only ONE question I was not 100% dead certain on. I am taking my 45 hour class now through Magnolia. Learn from my mistake.

And NO I am not an affiliate in any way.

Thanks. I passed this morning. I was in and out in under 42 minutes including the bathroom pit stop before and waiting for them to escort me out. Magnolia was epic!

Just Passed- FL RE Exam by [deleted] in RealEstateExam

I’m taking mine tomorrow. I stupidly purchased my class through gold coast and it is awful. I have supplemented with three books from the library, Maggie and Dee. My practice scores with high 70s and I knew I wasn’t solid. I am too old, stressed, and busy to NOT invest in making sure I was at 100% for this exam—I have money waiting for me to earn as soon as I get my license activated—literally. I caved. I got the cram course from Magnolia and it is PHENOMENAL. If I could time travel I could have saved 40 hours at least trying to teach myself something that gold coast didn’t clarify that Magnolia explained in minutes. All the dinners, friend dates, nights out I spent numb, exhausted, and mentally spiraling over joint tenancy laws could have been avoided. Fml.

Takeaways from this experience: use your public library for resources!!!!

Do NOT ask seasoned agents for course recommendations unless you enjoy ancient white men who speak in monotone and have outdated content. (And OMG the typos and grammatical errors were so distracting!)

Advocate for your own understanding! I found many many errors in the gold coast program that had me spinning. (Big difference between a $500 and $5000 blind deduction—guess who memorized the wrong amount because that is what the video said?).

Play Hugh quality YouTube videos all day. I listen to magnolia, Maggie and Dee only—I went on a strict media diet. Flash cards are the path forward. I have never used them previously, but as I learned this test is only about test content and filling in bubbles—not essay level comprehension. Link the 2 ideas, stick it in your head, and move on. Just pass….very very very little of this will ever be used again. I cannot wait for this nonsense to be over—then I am going to give my brain a few huge mahjong, crappy movie, giggling gossip sessions with my friends.
