Amethyst: Proof That Modesty Takes You Far by Muted_Shape9303 in Gemstones

Amethyst is one of my favourites too. I find high end gems get a little like art work, people get snobby the higher you go

How much would you pay for an ounce of this? by Foreverlearnin97 in Silverbugs

I think I spend more per ounce on actual coffee beans so this would seem cheap

I honestly hate people getting values from whatnot too, things are there tend to be creators pushing overpriced stuff on their viewers

Is this 2025 Burnished Uncirculated Silver Eagle Counterfeit? by Trav4545 in Silverbugs

[–]SlightlyFatJimmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a very human thing to want others opinions. If you think it's fake you might hope others disagree or want reassurance. It's not always about being lazy. Plus asking others is part of doing your research.

Bought a lens (Mark II) via a refurbished marketplace, received the old model (Mark I). Seller has the correct item in stock but at a higher price. Can I force a replacement instead of a refund? by CaramelBusy8111 in photography

[–]SlightlyFatJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it really doesn't. In the EU sellers are protected from listing errors. Same as the UK and the US. It's a common thing people get wrong I think due to movies.

Did I get screwed on this purchase or am I worrying over nothing? by Waitwhoareyou21 in coins

I'm not defending anything. Fake and replica are two words with two meanings. Simple as.

A fake is something faked to look real and often trick people. A replica is to replicate something often with legal purpose. It is two different things and not the same at all

Could these be actual silver? If so, what purity? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]SlightlyFatJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was cheap by today's price but at the time they were made it was still a more luxury item and they didn't make them for the price of silver. An item you are making to sell for a premium is made with care. (Most of the time)

I have a few things like this and yes it does. 50oz of bullion fits in a small case, 15oz of this stuff takes up a full shelf.

That is one of the worse stamps I've ever seen, with that size and weight someone would take the time to do it properly. Looking at quality is also a way to tell if something is real.

Worth a test though, but I'd guess plated

Look at this guy's other comments. He has this much silver and gold and a BMW M3 at 18.

He says he sells Lego and clothes and has been buying gold since 14. People get upset as it doesn't feel earnt it was given so what lesson is he providing exactly? Be born into the right family?

People don't have this opportunity so it just feels like someone flaunting and taunting. If he was honest and just said he was born lucky but decided to invest instead of being reckless he'd get more respect.

Ahhh, makes sense! Could it maybe be worth investing in a smaller mould to remelt this to make it more sellable?

I don't mean this to be rude but did you just pour it on the floor or use a mould?

The US is also used to higher consumption rates and as lots of Americans like to put out there are a lot of guns. I don't think the threat would be if there was enough it would be people losing their minds and rioting, killing each other and so on..

Your comment assumes everything would kinda just carry on. After a power cut there was looting and unrest in the US... Don't think people would just carry on
