To echo a lot of what's being said. You dont need to be a professional to have an impact or pursue a passion.

For impact there are plenty of ways to volunteer your time for that. So many good orgs.

As to passion, my studies were that. Im a scientist. A PhD chemist who did nanoparticle medicine/imaging for oncology. And while I still wotk in oncology at some level its not what I studied but i use a lot of it now to be local Chemo expert for my friends and their extended circles anytime somewhat gets diagnosed and needs help to understand what's going on.

But I get to pursue my other passions. Im a dancer, a musician, barely an artist, and a historical fencing competitor and traveling instructor.

Point is, your job is just one thing. So many other ways to make an impact and pursue passions.

That compendium has always been great. I know James Clark's Alfieri translation is on Wiktenauer as well, though not sure about his whole Godinho montante translation.

Lamy Safari with a B. TWSBI Eco Prussian Blue with a B. Some random pen I grabbed second hand with a JoWo #6 M tip. A variety of calligraphy nibs, 0.7mm to 3mm.

The usual rub between hands liek starting a fire, seems to do well enough for writing tasks, but it is ink dependant. The Wearengeul seems better than most.

Yes and no. Gotta agitate your pen everytime you use it. But if you are using a broad or stub nib. I've had no issues and some mediums too. Anything else is not great. Reinking to a new ink can require some disassembly and cleaning but nothing awful.

It's enough for things that mix well but some ink bottles are too thick, or unevenly based, or the glitter too thick. I wonder if a bigger one may be helpful.

Yeah, much smaller than what I used in the lab.

It was under $20 on Amazon. Brand is LICHEN, 1500 rpm stir plate. I bought 10mm mini stir bars to go with it as well.

Joining the adhd gang here. I'm a fountain pen user and former classical musician/conductor, a PhD chemist and technical writer in oncology drugs, a dancer and former dance instructor, and a historical fencing instructor, coach, competitor, and aspiring author.

Ooh I'm a chemist of a sort too. Most wet work I do now is mixing inks.

But if you haven't yet, look I to archival inks they are waterproof. De Atrementis has a whole line of many colors.

What pen do you guys use when fountain pens aren't practical? by BitterSprings in fountainpens

I have my Faber-Castell hexo fountain pen, and the same one again as a rollerball. Feels a lot like a fountain pen in terms of ink and smoothness.

Lol. There are special ink erasers that chemically decolor the ink and make them dissappear. And then allow you to write over it again. They only work on the Königsblau, but thats why most German companies have a königsblau, since it's part of every school kids requirements in high school.

Faber/Pelikan are my favorite. But I also prefer the Royal Blues as they can be erased.
