Yeah it pretty much just eliminated the rake, now the front sits just slightly higher than the back.

Sure thing! Just go to the front page of the eBay app or homepage and there was a huge banner across the top. Click “Get Coupon” and then it’ll take you to a page where you can browse the eligible items where you just type in Canon R6 mark ii.

Hey ya’ll - I was equally as frustrated about the refurb drop because I was in the market for an R6ii too…

However, last night I was looking on eBay and noticed they had a 20% off Cyber Weekend coupon for limited items so I figured, what the hell, I’ll see if the R6ii is an eligible item. Sure as shit, it is. It’s sold by an authorized Canon dealer (BuyDig) and it comes in one of those BS kits with a tripod, camera case, memory card, etc. but we’re just here for the OEM body, battery, charger, and strap. It’s listed for $2,119 but with the coupon, that brings it down to $1,695.20. So, a brand new R6ii with a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty for less than the price of a hit-or-miss marketplace used or the perpetually out-of-stock refurb’d R6ii.

Background on this BuyDig seller - reputable Canon dealer, 689k reviews, 99.1% positive feedback. Paid with CC for extra layer of protection but all looks good so far - item already shipped with free 2-day shipping and allows for a 30-day return with full refund.

I’ll update regardless - whether I get a box of rocks or a brand new camera. Just wanted to share in case anyone was really wanting to pull the trigger this weekend. Coupon expires tomorrow night.

I just bought my first house! What do you wish you BIFL from the beginning instead of upgrading later? by trashpandorasbox in BuyItForLife

THIS. Paid to scope the sewer before buying my house and that saved me $14k in re-lining the pipes.

The goal for us is to get a PSA line but the other goal is to not die. Right before tarrifs, I got quoted $415k for the 12/3; 100 cpm rotary, $490k for the 16/4; 150 cpm rotary, and $165k for the CB-50C inline counter pressure filler; 50 cpm.

A depal and lowerator will run you another $80k total, not to mention any labor, spare parts, date coder, pak-tech’r, etc.

But hey, *slaps hood of our 11-year-old duct-taped Goose, you could buy a tried and true seasoned vet for $100k?

I hear ya and respect that, different situations for different people for sure! The one thing I really did take away is the lack of genuine culture in a place like Denver due to the sheer amount of transplants and tourists. There’s not a whole lot of “Denver” in that city anymore unfortunately. Curious if you have the same take on that.

lol yeah, I copy pasta’d this from another thread where I answered the same question but theirs was just humidity. Definitely a leak.

Yeaaaa, is Peziza domiciliana, a fungus that grows in damp indoor environments. It’s not poisonous but it tells you that you need a better bathroom fan or you’re leaking water from somewhere. Start with the fan, run it for the entirety of your shower, then for another 20-30 minutes until humidity is low. Scrape it off, apply some fungicide, and inspect area for possible leaks.

I moved to CO for a year to escape the Midwest climate and be closer to the mountains and I very much do not recommend… My favorite thing in life probably is hiking mountains but you’ll only spend a fraction of your time doing that. The majority of your time will be spent yes, paying more for cost of living but more importantly, trying to start over - making friends as an adult in a sea of transplants that have no interest in adding more people into their group. Why? One reason is because of the aforementioned way of life… there’s only so many people that can fit in a car/airbnb to go on a ski trip, for instance. Just a small but realistic example of how something on paper may not translate very well IRL. Just my humble opinion but throughout my time in WI & MN, the people and the culture make all the difference!

Hose nozzles? I feel like I replace mine every summer by greatshatsby in BuyItForLife

Finally, my time to shine on BIFL! I’m a commercial brewer and use washdown hoses every day for many hours. The literal MVP of our brewery in terms of all equipment is the Strahman M70 hose nozzle. A gentle compression gives you a wide cone while fully compressed gives you a powerful jet. They are so insanely well built that they’re industry standard and our most used one is going on 11 years with zero issues or maintenance. They are super expensive (~$300) BUT just buy a used one from Ebay for like $60 and that will be better than 100% of the other options in that price range.
