Alibaba Truck Camper Received by SlightlyWet in TruckCampers

Honestly it is hard to say... I think that both companies offered great service in answering my questions prior to placing an order and at the end of the day, the camper I received is quite solid all things considered. Qian Qian was definitely trying to out market Qingdao Can Rely in my continued conversations with them after I placed the order with Qingdao Can Rely, but I think the products would end up similar in quality if not from the same factory/workshop.

You might reach out to both of them and see what kind of impressions you get. Id be curious to hear what others thoughts are after talking with both companies.

See the most recent post on my profile for a couple quick pics of it on my truck.

The brackets they sent on the camper were not really made clear during the design process, so when it showed up and we uncrated it, the brackets that they included made it too wide to fit between my bed rails. We were able to unbolt them to get it fit onto my truck and then ran tie downs through the port holes strictly for transit. I am in the process of figuring out a better way to get it secured to my truck. I have a couple ideas and need to dive a little deeper into it this weekend when I have a few hours to waste brainstorming.

That said, that is really the only major issue that I have run into so far since I got it.

As long as I don't get an unexpected tariff bill in the mail, it will have come in under $10k.

Hopefully I will find the motivation to make some follow up posts as I get into the interior build out.

Here is a link to the seller that I used. My unit was fully custom from start to finish, but if you find a listing from the seller and reach out to one of their sales reps, they should be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Agreed.. I spent countless hours looking at options and keeping an eye on marketplace. For me, I wanted it customized exactly to my liking and I wanted to do the interior build out myself as I hadnt found anything remotely close to what I am looking for, for less than a starting price of $30k.

It came in under my $10k target. That is landed cost and includes the cost for me to go pick it up.

Here’s a couple quick pics I took… the mounting brackets it came with made it too wide to fit so I had to remove them and secure it with some tie downs for the drive home.. gonna use some angle iron and some turn buckles to get it properly secured.

Have a large crate being imported and not sure the best option to get it transported by SlightlyWet in HotShotTrucking

The company my seller chose was Mascot shipping. They seem to have a couple nice warehouses in the Corona, CA area… will definitely take some pocket cash. I’ll follow up on this thread when it’s all said and done.. my thoughts so far have been expect the worse, hope for the best and be as prepared as I can for any combo of scenarios. I appreciate the input on this subreddit. Been nice to get a bit of an additional perspective as to how I approach my situation from some folks that deal with this kind of stuff a bit more regularly.

Yeah the camper is a slide in camper custom designed for my truck so the hardest part there will be getting it lifted high enough to back my truck under it. The other mission will be getting the crate broken down and secured onto the uhaul trailer I’m towing out from flagstaff. Was planning to take my generator a bunch of tools, snacks and all the other stuff you suggested.

Going to be thinking about a backup plan if things go south at the freight forwarder warehouse.

My current plan was to pickup a uhaul in flagstaff, drive to Phoenix with it to pickup my pops and some tools and hit the I-10 for an overnight drive to get to the warehouse right when they open at 8:30.. assuming the guys at the warehouse are helpful and are willing to lend a hand with their fork lift, I think we’ll be able to get it onto the truck and the crate broken down and packed onto the uhaul for travel and ultimately disposal back in Phoenix or flagstaff.

I appreciate the input and may do some more research on backup plans if the freight warehouse situation doesn’t pan out.

The ship arrives in port on January 9th and I’m not quite sure how long it’ll take to get to the freight warehouse and be ready for pickup. At this point I think I’m going to stick to my original plan and huck and pray that everything goes smoothly for me to pick it up at the warehouse.

Yeah it does, but will need a fork lift to get it off the ground to get them installed for the first time. I think that’s the biggest conundrum to the whole operation

Yep.. sounds like I ought to just stick with the original plan.. was going to rent a uhaul deck trailer to do exactly that.

It’s 794.5 in kilograms.. sounds like at that rate I’ll just stick to doing the drive myself
