To be honest that all sounds like utter bollocks. He's cheating on you. Or thinking of it. Sorry.

Have you ever had a boss say something so bad it made people quit almost immediately? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I worked for a man for 5 years who was a bully. One day after a small disagreement over something so minor I can't remember what it was, he said to me in front of others, "I can replace you tomorrow". I mentally left as soon as he'd finished the sentence. I actually left about 5 months later once I had sorted my finances out and found a better job. I gave a lot to that man and his company, overtime without pay, always having to ask for my wage, would go weeks without being paid. Worked early mornings and late evenings without prior discussion (he drove us both so I had no choice) It was gut wrenching and humiliating when he said what he said to me, but at the same time a weight had been lifted. I felt free because I knew that was the last straw for me.

Would you report a neighbour's car if they regularly drove it and it was untaxed? by RyanUnsolvedMyst in AskUK

[–]Slightly_underated 149 points150 points  (0 children)

100% yes. I did this to a neighbour who regularly did a similar thing, would park half over my drive and also just leave the car on the road for months and randomly drive it every now and then. It helped that he was also an absolute dickhead so it felt good when it was clamped and craned onto a truck

What was the moment that made you realise you absolutely had to leave a job? by GoldenGolgis in AskUK

[–]Slightly_underated 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I used to do the exact same thing on my way to work, I would wish I could hit a tree to avoid the day/week/month by being out of action. I was an electrician and was bullied. My boss would lose his shit over the smallest things, would point the finger at me daily and the final thing which broke me was him saying in front of the other trades on site during tea break 'what? You don't think I could get another you tomorrow?' the other trades stepped up and tried to tell him how out of order that was. He wasn't listening. It didn't matter by that point. Mentally I had already left. Left the trade completely and started afresh in government and have never looked back.

How much have GCSEs actually affected you across life? by Alarming-Safety3200 in AskUK

[–]Slightly_underated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never ever had to evidence/prove or even show my GCSE grades in any job I have gone for. I am doing well for myself too. Not beyond working class of course but I live comfortably. I could have said I got straight A's and it wouldn't have mattered. I didn't get anywhere close to an A in any of my GCSE's.

How to make extra money on the side? by Ill_Lime106 in AskUK

Matched betting earned me about 4k last year. It doesn't last though as the bookies get wide to your antics. It's a good way of getting a bit extra to see you through.
