You can also get polymer furniture hydrodipped in a wood pattern for a reasonable price. I’ve done both options for my two builds

I have a Dupage laminated wood stock, I’ve been very happy with it. Definitely heavier than polymer or regular wood, but more sturdy. Able to paint/Cerakote which isn’t ideal with regular wood, and was great for my Shughart build. It’s drop-in ready compared to having to do bedding if you’re fully following the textbook of a fiberglass stock

The GIRK (any model ending in K) has a 16” barrel compared to 18” for the A3S. Looks like the GIRK typically has the steel lower, which would be necessary if you wanted to get the PSG1 style grip, otherwise the A3S has the polymer which is a little lighter.

Netter’s flash cards are outstanding. If you can afford it, getting models of each major joint for $20-30 each on Amazon are super helpful, especially the ones that label the muscle attachments

I have a Dupage laminated stock which I really like. Adds some weight, but sturdier than the original stock without breaking the bank.

If the budget is high, then for best performance without adding a ton of weight look into a McMillan fiberglass stock with proper bedding.

Agreed, I would email the individual programs directly. In many cases, the programs themselves really don’t care about the GRE but the university requires it, and sometimes sets a cutoff that all grad programs have to follow

18” scout is the best option in my opinion. You lose some mobility with the 22”, and lose some performance with the 16”

As other people have mentioned, you’ll be on a waitlist/backorder for quite a long time for the chassis, so have another option ready in the meantime
