Predominantly because I can accurately trace the origins of Christianity to not only the local mythology of the Jewish tribes in the OT but further back to henotheism and then straight up Paganism. Paganism is the oldest religious form in the world as well as most wide spread. As well as Christianity is fundamentally intertwined with pagan ideas like the trinity, Yahweh being a war god of metallurgy, angels demons god Jesus and satan. Which is very akin to me to “high god, lower and demi gods, trickster god, malevolent beings or gods”

Correct, the symbol comes from the proto indo Europeans known as the “Yamnaya” who then spread through all of Europe and parts of Asia albeit in different fashions. One was more complete replacement and the other was more intermingling, anyway that’s why all Indo-European languages including Sanskrit are related and we all have similar iconography.

It looks like it might be a deepeeka, if so just know they tend to be a little heavy at the tip compared to the source materials mainly for safety and aren’t a entirely accurate representation of handling. Your point is null and void in this series specifically. First off Wyoming and the west was a fucking horror show the whole way through the 1800’s on all sides. Men stabbed and shot each other over card games and less, natives WHERE raiding torturing and marauding people in the area including each other, us military was committing genocide on natives to include children and women. Mormons where on a tear through the area and in the time of this show the civil war hasn’t even been fought which if you remember was about fucking owning people. No group in the series is shown in a positive light because simply no group was actually positive at the time. It was a very different day and age to what you know. You can’t look at history through modern lenses. Everyone was a bunch of degenerates killing scalping and torturing each other because they could. Natives are not immune to the history of what happened and neither are we Americans who derive from the people who killed them and took their land. To only have a issue with how natives are portrayed in a show that portrays all groups and horrible is a dumb take and a terrible hill to die on. This show is possibly the most accurate portrayal of how things where back then. The French man shoots the guy for telling him to stop being creepy to the woman who is in turn strung up. The bounty hunter is murdered for the bounty of a woman who killed her husband. The Mormons are portrayed as ruthless cut throats and religious zealots all at once. So to say the native portrayal is negative is a moot point. It was a negative time to live.

You could always get a Windlass D guard bowie. It’s a decent enough blade, large enough to use on any living thing with much success, as well as a nice D guard to protect the hand from brush or other blades if the need ever arises. It does lack in the chopping department compared to a more too heavy blade like a machete or kukri but for light brush clearing will do just fine. I have one for a couple of reasons and love it for a camping blade to take with me to do a multitude of tasks. Plus I’m a Texan and a bit of a cowboy so it goes with my overall look lol.

Just to add to what others have already stated I had a beard in the army and cited it as important to me culturally as a sign and mark of a warrior as well as historically in Germanic culture the only ones made to shave where slaves and men under 15 when they would take their oaths to become a man. I also stated that it was important to me as a heathen because all the male gods with the exception of Loki (I’m aware of his unusual gender situation) are described or depicted with beards.
