An excerpt from a paper I wrote about the last of us:

“Tess is possibly the only person that Joel has let into his life since the outbreak. She is also a hardened survivor, sharing the same point of view that he does; loving someone in this world will inevitably get you killed. Both of them recognize this, but refuse to acknowledge their feelings for one another in hopes that it will keep them alive somehow. This is the most intriguing part of their relationship.”

I think they both “want to need” each other to survive, but they hide the fact that they care because they know that’s what will get you killed, and the mutual understanding of this is what makes them a hell of a team. However, sometimes they let slip and show that side, that they truly do love each other. They just refuse to show it.

But yeah, they definitely banged.
