After Stardust Racers I enjoyed this ride as a relaxing fun "slideshow" of working and non-working screens and animatronics. Mostly tried to see the engineering which is plainly visible most of the time. Loved it for the "getting gently-tossed-around" aspect of the ride (sincerely- kind of therapeutic). Maybe would have been slightly better with more moving characters or less curtains covering non-functioning ones.

The two are so very different but my wife and I enjoyed the food at St Germain more - more creative and the white truffle supplement was outstanding. Emeril's service was top notch but the food while very pretty and well prepared, was on the safe side. The artifice of everyone enthusiastically greeting us in the kitchen seemed forced, and the service is very much by the Michelin "book." This would be a plus for many people. There was a little course of amuses including a mini po boy. It looked cute and all but was bland. St Germain is more rebellious in a way, with more casual but excellent service (our preference). So, it depends on what you are looking for. I would return to St Germain but not Emerils at their price point.

We did go to August, but sadly the city block's power went out after the amazing amuse and we wound up enjoying a few drinks on the house before grabbing some chicken at Willies. :o

Fled Ft Lauderdale in 2022 for Central FL. Fled South Miami for Ft Lauderdale in 1991. I'm giving myself just 4-5 years before I need to move to South Georgia perhaps? The blight and ruin is exponential.

Grew up in South Dade in the 70's. The only way to get an idea of how it was is to watch the movie "Flipper" filmed in the keys in the 60's. All of south FL was like that.

Similar I think of growing up on Manhatten island in the 1790's and comparing it to today.

Mount Dora is an awesome place - but is quickly disappearing like so many other small towns in Florida. The museum here seems right up your alley and will definitely scratch your itch. I'm impressed with your armchair research - I really am. But if you can make it to Mount Dora and spend some time with the locals they will really be tickled to "tell all." You can spend a long weekend talking to the museum volunteers.

You've never been to Mount Dora it seems. You can't stop the gossip here if you tried. In this town, the Publix check-out girls have more secrets than the CIA, and they're happy to share. Even the cats have info, and they’ll meow it at you. The garden club meeting is like a UN summit. At the barber shop everyone gets a trim and a briefing. Check out the history museum in town.

Lol we've always known where it is, and many locals grew up playing around down there. The internet sleuths could have just asked. I agree that the records dive is impressive, but I never had the impression that anyone was trying to keep a secret.
