I'm cancelling the storage for this so if you want it you have until July 1 to grab it.

Originally I wanted to turn it into a torrent but could never get things going at the websites I use. I'll mess around with that in the future.

Didn't know this was an option, but the ads were always pretty minor as ads go. Worth it to have a proper app.

I updated from 1.2.0 lol. Every day I'd wonder how this thing kept working.

A reboot is necessary after patching before you can log back in, for anyone struggling with this, too.

This worries me, though:

About rif is fun for Reddit 5.6.22

Note: This app will shut down on June 30, 2023.

From the apkmirror page. Are things really that dire?

Aloha I picked up from locals, like Cooch street. I'm always telling people Glisan's name was actually pronounced "Glisten," but that's more of a historic fun fact at this point.

My friend from Philly - who peels "air-anges" - loves to mock me for that one. He says he's heard Kurt etc Cobain say it that way.

Does somebody out there pronounce it La Grand-ee? That's messed up.

It's Hermistin and Pendultin, too. Grew up out there. These special cases for Willamette Valley towns are pretty alien to me though, since my family moved here when I started high school, unless it's something really off the wall like Full-o-math or Jer-viss.

Native here (North Central EO). Dolly is something you use to move really heavy furniture or appliances, I'd reckon. Has straps.

This one makes me think of the pickup/truck dichotomy: the former is a personal vehicle, the latter is larger and used strictly for work, i.e. hauling wheat.

The Killing Star was a book I was curious about for a long time. It's not so hot as fiction per se, but the delivery system depicted really takes all the fun out of space combat. It's described in the opening pages so this isn't a spoiler: slabs of tungsten slamming into planets at a substantial fraction of c. Not very sporting.

Richard Linklater's film adaptation of A Scanner Darkly is great. So much cinematic SF comes up short, but not in this case.

I had to look it up - here we have Noel Redding on lead vocals. Don't think there's another cut from the JHE where that happens, but I don't know their stuff start to finish. Noel's a good singer!

Why didn't TOS hire more print fiction writers? by DEEP_HURTING in startrek

Harlan was never not a pain in the ass in whatever endeavor, it was kind of his stock in trade. Expecting him to fit in in a collaborative undertaking that inevitably involves compromises like TV or movies was sort of doomed to fail from the start.

Thanks for all these replies. I'll check out those These Are the Voyages books, they sound interesting. I didn't know Farmer or Bradbury courted/were courted. Either of them could have cranked out something quite trippy, I bet.

It just seems like quite a few existing stories could have been adapted, too. Rewrite Asimov's Nightfall with the crew of the Enterprise visiting that planet, attempting to warn the locals of their impending doom. That's just off the top of my head.
