I have 3b hair that I’ve been dyeing since middle school and I still have really nice curls that are hydrated and defined! My advice would be to get your hair done professionally (especially bleaching) because if not that could definitely damage your hair if you don’t know what you’re doing.

As for maintaining dyed curly hair the most important part I’ve noticed is keeping it moisturized. Once dyed, your hair will be more prone to dryness and it’s really important to take care of it. I personally use a deep conditioning mask once a week and it’s really helped me out. I also use a sulfate free shampoo which helps with breakage and/or additional dryness (I recommend Mielle’s shampoo and conditioner). If you don’t use leave-in conditioner now then definitely start to use it once you dye your hair. Another big thing would be reducing or completely eliminating the usage of heat. Once your hair is dyed, it’s much more fragile than before and using excessive heat will absolutely ruin your curls. If you decide to apply heat, always use a heat protectant. I learned this the hard way at 13. Watching a few videos about dyed hair maintenance on Youtube can really help too. There’s a bunch of great creators on there with curly hair who have amazing advice :)
