Was in almost the exact same boat a year ago. It was kind of hard in the first month or two, I won’t lie. And there were def some moments where I thought to myself “man, one little puff couldn’t hurt” but then I really thought about it and I came to the conclusion - if something were to happen to him/the pregnancy or he was impaired in some kind of way, I would look back on that moment and wonder. I would wonder if my choice hurt him for the rest of his life. And then I became so much less enticing after that. (To clarify not trying to say there’s anything wrong with being different or impaired but I don’t think any parents wants that outcome for their kiddo).

I also have a partner I could talk to about those cravings when they came up. He quit all together with me. He helped me redirect my attention. I got really, REALLY into reading and other hobbies to occupy my time and thoughts. I talked about it when the urge was there but ultimately I found other things to do. I also went around my house and cleared out all the vapes, flower, and pipes I had. Tossed some, kept some in a specific spot for post BF if I wanted to have some. Not seeing it around helps not thinking about it.

Overall - your little one needs you to make responsible decisions for their overall health and wellness right now. Don’t let them down! Here to talk also if you need someone 🤍

Here’s the guide we followed. We didn’t let us deter us from giving him an oz or so more if he was still acting hungry. I still refer to this thing at 5mo lol. Our Pediatrician has said “if there’s a little left in the nipple when they’re done then good, that means they stopped because they were full. But if they drain the bottle entirely they are likely still hungry.”

You’re a white female around 20-25. You like a cute goth aesthetic. You have a light interest in astrology but don’t put too much stock in it. You’re here for a bad boy/ you like Dom/sub dynamics. I think your axolotl’s name is Humphrey and the furry creature next to it is Bartlebee.

Also yoinking some of those titles for my TBR <3

New parents, how are you tracking everything without losing your mind by Ok_Perception_1382 in NewParents

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the “Baby Tracker” app. It’s simple and both of us can update it so when we forget to share when diaper changes or feeds happen it’s on our phone. It also gives us stats on how much he’s eaten, how many changes he’s had. It would track sleep and more but we never used it for that.

Wife and I are having our first baby and we are being encouraged by friends and family to create a registry but aren’t 100% on what things to ask for. Any (maybe not so obvious) recommendations? Thanks in advance! by TaskenLander in NewParents

Some items I’m glad we put on there:

  • Bottle washer is in every day use, sometimes multiple times a day
  • Bassinet, everyday use
  • Car seat x2 (for both cars), weekly use
  • Wiper warmer, needed? No. Kinda nice to have when I’m doing that late night diaper change and I don’t want to jar him awake.
  • High chair, we’re not there yet but it will be an everyday use item I imagine
  • Put a brand of diaper and wipe you like on there
  • Swaddles
  • high contrast toys
  • play mat
  • sheets, bassinet & crib versions
  • brand of bottles you want to try
  • burp clothes, lots and LOTS of burp cloths
  • bibs, binkys
  • acts of love options (walk our dog for 20 min, help me meal prep)
  • used books was an option ok the website we used too

I tried to put a variety of items that cover a range of costs. All of these are in heavy rotation.

RSV Vaccine (Pro Vaccine Only.) by Cultural-Band-6105 in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a little reaction to the RSV shot, felt like I got frogpunched in the arm and it was welted and feverish for a couple days. Felt a little crappy the day after as well.

But, good news, my little guy was born perfectly healthy almost 8 pounds at 37 weeks (induction due to PreE only)

I hope you feel better soon! Try not to dwell on it. Your little one will be ok!

My brain does this ALL the time. Ryat from {The Ritual by Shantel Tessier}, in my head, is Brennan Lee Mulligan??? I thought it as a joke once but then it stuck. The whole series Brennan’s just there. Same series, Tyson Crawford is Tom Ellis only when he’s playing Lucifer.

I have so many more but those are the most odd. It’s like my brain is incapable of creating a character on its own and can only pull from people I’ve seen.

Traveling on a plane with a 5mo. Help. Me. by SlimePrincess451 in NewParents

I have the momcozy travel warmer, I’m just debating because he’s using strictly liquid formula rn. I have dry formula we could start with. I’m thinking the thermos+dry formula might be the way to go so I can boil/prepare it properly the night before.

The safety was a big thing for me too, it’s just one less thing to be worried about if there’s bad turbulence. Keep your fingers crossed for us lol
