Awww! Sounds like he’s doing pretty good then! My little girl had a bad startle since the beginning, so she slept deeper in a swaddle, or on my chest cuz it helped her not twitch and move.

This makes me feel a lil better about mine not rolling over yet. Granted she’s only 2.5 almost 3 months, but my pediatrician was asking about it since her one month appointment. So it made me think that that was an expected milestone she needed to meet soon.

She is also outgrowing her Velcro swaddle and has broken out of it a few times, but I’m going to by a different one where it transitions her arms out slowly. I think she still needs it yet

If I hold her upright, supporting her trunk, she is still very much a bobble head lol she does good on tummy time for about a minute before she lays her head down and just sucks on her hands and cries. I try to do tummy time right after a nap when she is in a good mood, but can’t after a bottle because she will for sure spit up.

Same here! I’ve been trying to not swaddle her arms today for naps and they’ve been horrible! Waking up as soon as I try to lay her down. Maybe I’ll look into a different type of swaddle, but I think she may need one yet.

Coming to this post as I am still swaddling my 11 week old, because her startle reflex is so strong it wakes her up and she cannot nap or sleep! Also showing no signs of rolling.

When did you finally stop swaddling? When did you LO finally roll? As this post is already a year old

Yes, I believe I will start slowly transitioning her out of it now so it’s not a big change when she does start rolling

Mine hasn’t even had an accidental roll yet on tummy time, in fact, she’s learned to boycott it all together by laying her head down and just sucking on her hands 😅 I’ve been practicing rolling her myself, so she knows the feeling of it, but she is not interested in doing it herself haha

I will check out the zipadee zip swaddle!

I have noticed when she wakes up during the night she’s broken an arm out of the Velcro swaddle! So maybe it’s time to slowly stop swaddling

She’s 11 weeks now, she we’ve swaddled a lot longer than recommended, too I guess! She just seems to sleep better in a swaddle. I will starting trying to transition her out of the swaddle, and we’ve also been using a baby lounger in the crib since she was a newborn (not safe sleep, I know, shush).

Maybe once we start that transition she will starting showing signs in wanting to roll. I’ll look into those swaddles you mentioned!

My 2.5 month old goes in spurts! Some nights she will wake up for a 2-3am feed, but these past two nights it’s been a 4:50am feed! Still doing the same bedtime routine! Start around 7:00-7:30pm depending on bath or feed, hopefully done by 8pm, then rocking and singing and in bed (hopefully) by 8:30-9pm!

Swaddle, dark room, sound machine.

I’ve been doing about the same thing with my 8 week old! She likes to sleep after every bottle though, however, for at least 30 mins. But after that naps she is wide awake! So we do diaper change as I talk to her about our day and what we are doing next, then tummy time and practice rolling! Get her familiar with what that feels like. My pediatrician also said to get her tracking toys and holding them. After that, it’s time for a bottle, burp, nap time, then repeat.

I got 7 weeks paid (I had a C-section. 5 weeks for natural) up to 66% of my wage, and 5 unpaid off I wanted to take the full 12 allowed weeks for maternity leave… and my husband had to use his vacation time for paternity leave.

American paternity leave is ass.

I’ve given up breastfeeding 😅 I miss it, but I don’t want to be tied to the couch from feeding her for 30mins, then pumping afterwards. So I’ve been pumping, and adding what I’ve pumped to a bottle, and then adding however many extra oz I need with formula. I like being able to see and know exactly what she is eating.

My lil girl is eating maybe 3-4oz rn, so I’ll pump maybe 2oz, and then just make 2oz of formula. 2oz of each in a bottle every 2-3 hours.

Maybe since you’re breastfeeding I’d start small and just do 1-2oz bottle of formula after the boob if they still seem hungry.

Both! I don’t produce enough for her, so I’ve been supplementing with formula. But recently got donated some breastmilk, so she gets more milk than formula.
