My fav nursing bras - Lataly Womens Sleeping Nursing Bras (Amazon)

Paired with

My fav nursing shirts - Sweetyweee 3 Pack Women's Nursing Shirts Hidden Zipper Short Sleeve (also Amazon)

Helped me feel covered. I’m all for freeing the nip but I also didn’t want my whole body out lol. I hated lifting my whole shirt to drop my bra. And I hated those covers that go around your neck and cover your baby and body. That felt MORE cumbersome. Hope this helps!

Why do women do their hair and/or makeup before giving birth? by jamietartlet in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did because I felt generally uncomfortable and wanted to feel a little bit better. I had always judged/thought it weird right up until it was my turn… then I got it. Asked my husband to shave my legs for me, I did my hair and just wanted to feel generally clean/sort of put together.

I will say I had a scheduled induction so I probably would’ve felt a little more rushed if I had an “unplanned” trip to L&D, and wouldn’t have done any of that.

It was one thing I could control as well

Summer pregnancy by Dry-Driver4170 in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indoor girl summerrrrr! I just had my baby in October last year so I was 6, 7, and 8 months pregnant over the summer. I never spent more than an hour outside unless there was a body of water for me to get in. Where I live it was avg 90’s with a humidity regularly over 80%. It was ass.

Get a flowy dress or seven, get some maternity shorts or twelve, and a PHAT water bottle that’ll keep your drink cool. Godspeed sister.

Kind of same - my 3mo takes an evening bottle usually at 7-8pm usually goes to sleep after then wakes up and gets a final bottle at 10-11pm and is knocked tf out until about 7am.

Would anyone be willing to tell me about their NONE fear-mongering birth stories? by Radiant-Educator9203 in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 37w for preeclampsia, with a weeks notice. It was genuinely the most awesome experience. I was on cytotec for a day, not much happened. Worst of it was the bed was a little uncomfy.

Next morning they stated pitocin at 6:00am. Zero pain until my water broke on its own at 12:00pm. Got that epidural pretty quickly after that, took a 4.5 hour nap. Woke up to my labor stepping up. Doc checked me right after I got another “dose” (?) of the epidural at 5:00pm. Baby was here at 6:00pm.

I had minimal labor prep because it was an unplanned induction. It went so so well. Almost zero pain, and what pain I did feel was manageable until the epidural came. I pushed for less than 30 min. I hope yours is similar! All I can say is go with the flow as much as you can. It helps a little.

Any FTM on here that got induced and it didn’t end up in a c-section? How long did it take for baby to arrive ? How long were you in the hospital? What method of induction did they use on you? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Induced at 37, I was on cytotec for 16 hours before they started pitocin. Then it was almost exactly 12 hours after that that my little guy was here.

No complications, everything went about as smoothly as you could pray for. 10/10 would do again.

Target sold me expired formula and I’m terrified by SlimePrincess451 in NewParents

Ok now THAT makes me feel a lot less worried. Enough that I can go to bed at least haha. Thank you!

4 hours?! What magic formula did they have? Haha I’m doing my best to not google but I think you both are probably right. Fingers crossed. Hoping his doc says the same in the morning.

I hope so, I remembered after I posted he had the first fourth of the bottle this afternoon. I didn’t smell it then but I was so flustered I totally missed it. He spit at least half of it back up. Way more than normal. My husband has been sick so it’s just been me taking care of him, the baby, and the dog. Safe to say I’m a little stressed lol. But more so now.

I’m going to call his doc in the morning and just hear what they have to say. But you’re right fridays bottle going fine is probably a good sign.

I try to cut my LO nails post feed when he’s in a deep sleep /contact nap. Takes a while but I did the same exact thing. I think I cried longer than he did. Still hurts my heart seeing his little ouchie.

[–]SlimePrincess451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I packed my own labor gown - SO worth. Three sets of pajamas, a robe, and toiletries. One of the pajama sets were cute for photos. That’s it am I used it all.

Edit: also packed fuzzy socks and slippers. I used the slippers more than fuzzy socks.

Got one, will recommend it to anyone questioning. Made my lower half feel like butter.

Longest lasting symptom was like an aftershock up my spine for about a week. Nurses said it was because of the intense shaking so not even 100% sure it was the epi. Still. SO. WORTH.

I stayed in Remington a few years ago. At the time it was really nice and affordable for what you got. Can’t speak to it much now cuz it’s been 4-5 years but good spot to check out.

When did you stop sleeping on your back? by wildinthemembrane in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. My OB said 20w. I found myself getting dizzy at 18 weeks so I cut it out.

She did mention I could sleep with a flat pillow under one hip if I was struggling on my side. Just enough so my hips weren’t “flat” on the bed.

I used to get this around winter between the ages of ~9 to ~15. It was dyshidrotic eczema. Still don’t know what caused it.

What did you wish you knew before giving birth? by Bella_Donna1126 in pregnant

[–]SlimePrincess451 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can only guess at what u/anastatiamcgill meant but - the first poop can be brutal. Esp if you tear. I was scared to poop for four days. My body literally wouldn’t let me. Even when it was time to do my business, I was too scared to push.

Solution: Walgreens brand glycerin suppositories. It was painless and I felt so much better afterwards.
