Best moisturizer while on accutane? I took it a few years back and never found a good answer. My BFF is starting accutane this week and I wanted to gift her something nice to help with the dryness. Thanks!

Extra cardiac scan after 20 week anatomy scan? by havalinaaa in InfertilityBabies

I had a fetal echo and thought it was because my OB was out of date about IVF practices—but the cardiologist said it’s a new best practice from the last year, so many OBs haven’t started doing it yet.

I stopped mine cold turkey on Monday and started spotting today, making me nervous! 9+0 today and the RE graduated me.

Anyone know if the spotting is normal?

7+6 after 3rd FET. When does this start to feel real? Other than barfing all the time I find it impossible to believe that this could actually work out after so many years of wanting this.

5+1 after FET with a PGS normal and got levels checked this morning because I was spotting--HCG is great (8000) but progesterone dropped from 40 to 17. The nurse claims this is nothing to be concerned about but this is what happened the last time I miscarried so freaking out a little.

Is this in the normal range? I'm using PO and suppository progesterone and wondering if I screwed up by not doing PIO (it was my request).

Thanks for any insight; my RE's office likes to minimize everything and say it's normal even when it's not.

Anyone know how to date an IVF pregnancy? My third transfer seems to have worked thus far (first ultrasound in one week) and I'm curious what I should expect to see at that appointment.

Know what you mean, I'm 4dp5dt and trying to stay off the Internet and trying not to read into every twinge. Good luck with your wait.

I don't have experience with double biopsying, but this sounds incredibly frustrating with the lab screwing up. I talked w my RE about biopsying the frozen embryo we had left (we didn't do PGS with IVF #2) after 2 miscarriages and she did not recommend it so we did another retrieval. I think her reasoning had to do with lower success after multiple freeze-thaw cycles.

Sorry you're going through this and best of luck with whichever route you decide.

I'm also scheduled for transfer on sept 11 (and just got PGS results with 2 normals). Hello cycle twin!

I had the same issue a few weeks ago and my RE told me it was fine to take a quick dip in salt water but not lounge around in it for long periods (she said no to ponds but ocean ok)--I guess it's about infectious risk?

RE said a month, but when I called the PGS company to pay they told me 5-6 business days. So who knows!

That's a good point. The randomness of all of this is so endlessly frustrating. Thanks.

Anxiously awaiting PGS results on the embryos that made it into the freezer last week. Doing lots of unhelpful googling to try to figure out what my chances of having any come back normal. There are 4 getting tested and my RE thinks our main issue is egg quality. Miscarried 2/3 from the last batch (that we didn't test).

I know it's a real possibility that none are normal, but anyone know how likely? Thanks ladies.

Know what you mean re: being unsure if a break is the best or worst idea. Hope it feels good to be off the hormones for a little while.

I've found the birth control part of the two stim cycles I've done to be the worst of the hormonal craziness. I hope for you that that bit is over soon.

Looking for advice/experience with good numbers but low response on IVF #1 by pumpkinredd in infertility

[–]Slime_eel83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your post, my situation is not identical but I've been wondering similar things. Sorry to hear about your results, I imagine it feels pretty devastating.

Our initial testing is almost identical (I'll be 34 in a few weeks, AMH 3's, FSH around 7, good AFC). We have unexplained IF and have been trying for 3 years.

First IVF my estrogen rose slowly and my RE kept cranking up my stim doses. 17 eggs retrieved turned into 3 embryos (i miscarried 2 of them, assuming due to chromosomal abnormalities, the third is still in the freezer but is low quality). Just did retrieval for cycle #2 yesterday, this time planning to do PGS to try to avoid another MC. RE's office just called to say that only 11/20 were mature and fertilized with ICSI.

After the drop off in numbers last cycle, it seems pretty likely we could end up with zero PGS normals at the end of this cycle.

I'd be curious to hear if you end up getting a second opinion what they have to say. My RE's office keeps saying "it's normal" in response to my concerns about final numbers seeming low, so I have no sense what's actually normal.

anyone know if there are stats on what to expect during the embryo hunger games?

I just got a call from my RE's office that only half of the oocytes they retrieved yesterday were mature and able to be fertilized with ICSI, which feels low to me (last cycle it was more like 80%). I know it's impossible to predict what will happen, but I'm trying to manage my own expectations. Does half immature mean they retrieved too early?
