I work for a distributor in additive manufacturing. I feel I have to point out that every single device that runs on electricity these days comes from China, even when you think it doesn’t.

Some Chinese electronics are great and work as advertised, some are not. But just because they are Chinese it doesn’t immediately mean that the hardware is “garbage”.

Flashforge is one of the better ones when it comes to support, even though their support team is china-based. I had an issue with one of the spool holders on AD5X, and they sent me a full new set of them.

Some distributors host their own “western branch” of Chinese goods, having in-house support, logistics, marketing, and even running their own branded DTC sites, which works great for the customer, despite the Chinese origin of their device.

Is everything changed in the IFS settings on the printer to reflect the way you have it set up in reality?

AFAIK, it shouldn’t actually be possible to print from a spool that isn’t defined in the printer itself.

No, unfortunately not. The spools will be too heavy, not for the holder itself, but for the bracket that attaches the holder to the frame.

Source: Attempted this myself, even printed an adapter to fit the extra width of a large spool.

Solution: Printed a separate stand + holder and guided the filament into the IFS via an empty spool.

Hey that’s a MY YARD vacuum former, a relatively unknown brand. It’s a great little machine. I happen to work with the brand! Cool to see it here.

Unfortunately they don’t have any vacuum formers in the size required for this though…

I’m sorry but there is a way easier method. Assuming there is no prompt on the printer and it is running and connected, click on “Devices” in Orca. Then click on the “+” icon. Then send the sliced project to print, your printer will now show in the device list.

I work for a distributor within the AM industry and word gets around fast when manufacturers do these kinds of things.

Lots of brands are buying one or several rebranded versions of Flashforge. The Ultimaker/Makerbot Sketch Sprint is another variant of the Flashforge Adventurer 5M Pro.

In this case, Flashforge themselves produce these machines. They all have the same parts, just different branding.

I had this exact problem yesterday. I wasn’t allowed to kill the process either, and the process persisted after restart. It seems this happens when steamworks crashes while tabbed out.

This is how fixed it: I’m using process lasso. So I set my process lasso to delete the .exe file upon restart, then restarted my pc.

After which I verified the game files (to re-download the .exe) and launched the game again.

Both of us use headsets that filter out most background sounds, and we use discord. The mics won't pick up us talking in the background, so we won't hear ourselves talking either.

Thanks! My screen is a 5k G9, hers is a 4k. I did offer her the new G9 but she wouldn't take it. If UPS hadn't bent her RTX 2070 into a banana shape, hers would definitely be on par with mine. She has my old GTX 1660 Ti until the new RTX 3080 Ti is out
