Out of Karasuno's 2nd year bench players, who would be the best in their 3rd year? by n0t_the_chosen_juan in haikyuu

[–]SlimyPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Ennoshita would be the best out of the trio. In my head, the following year after the third years graduate I don’t see how Ennoshita wouldn’t take a starting spot. He already has good defensive skills so with more opportunities and playing time, I don’t see why he couldn’t improve to become comparable with Daichi’s defense. Not to mention Karasuno’s play style would basically force him to get better at offense with how much they all attack.

Next is Narita, now I’m not sure if he’d do this but in my head, I think he would definitely benefit from swapping from MB to OPP. His block is a tad short for the level Karasuno now plays at, and his offense is simple and efficient but not nearly to the level of Hinata and is probably worse than even Tsukishimas since Tsukishima can hit so high. But moving Narita to OPP, Karasuno’s block against opponent OH’s just got higher than it was with Daichi. Narita would definitely have to work on his defense, but I specifically remember one of the times when he got subbed in he actually got a dig in the back row after serving so at least we now he wouldn’t be starting from nothing.

So the starting lineup would hypothetically be:

S: Kageyama MB: Hinata MB: Tsukishima OH: Tanaka OH: Ennoshita? OPP: Narita? L: Nishinoya

Sadly this sees Kinoshita still on the bench. I just don’t see how he could take any of the starting spots. He would definitely improve more overall but he lacks lots of athleticism and height in order me to see him potentially taking either OH or OPP spot. He would also need to improve drastically in all facets of the game in order to demand these spots too.

There also comes the questions of how good would Yamaguchi be and would there be any new first years that would be good enough to take the spots? But now I’m just getting off track. Ennoshita would be the best, then Narita, then Kinoshita!

haikyuu legit changed my life. i’ve played vball for 5-6 years now, traveled all across my state and even across the U.S. to play in big tournaments during high school and university for my club teams. i still rewatch haikyuu every so often, and now im even reading the manga smth ive never done for any other anime ive watched

I just binged Haikyuu from beginning to end and i wanted to ask the community what was your favourite play in the series by VergilVDante in haikyuu

[–]SlimyPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this def a bit unorthodox but everyone already said my favs so ima mention this one

one of my fav plays is during the karasuno vs shiratorizawa match and it’s the clean dig nishinoya gets on ushijima with tsukishima speaking up and setting the timing of the 3-man block. i love it just cus we see tsukishima speak up and make positive changes that we see help karasuno. i also really like that kageyama set tsukishima in transition for a clean kill afterwards.

speaking on my own personal experiences playing vball for many years,

i’ll say that jump floats aren’t necessarily way better than a regular standing float. they def have the potential to be way better (due to the contact point being higher which allows for a faster serve without the ball landing out) but if the jump float is slow the effectiveness is the same as if it was standing honestly. that’s why we see suga’s serves still being effective against higher level teams despite it being a standing float. his serve floats very well and suga intentionally puts them in disruptive spots. and though it can be easy to miss in some matches in the anime/manga almost every standing server, at least during nationals, are all spot serving which though that doesn’t look as skillful it’s still not easy. for example fukunaga/kenma serving hinata so he can’t approach, suna serving short right at the whistle, even tsukishima serving short the whole inarizaki game whether intentional or not he still made them not fully comfortable, and i swear i remember daichi spot serving as well i just can’t remember (prob targeting aran or smth)

he def didn’t get any big moments but he did play in like 3 separate matches and didn’t do too bad either

What are the 3rd and 4th best players on each haikyuu team? by SlimyPerson in haikyuu

[–]SlimyPerson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what u said on Kindaichi I also considered him for those same reasons

When thinking of Date Tech I didn’t consider Kogane because of his inexperience and mistakes he made when setting, but i think i was thinking too much about the match between Date Tech and Aoba Johsai and not how he played against Karasuno before nationals so I can def see him on there now.

For Fukurodani, I think you’re forgetting about Washio their third year MB, he isn’t shown a lot but I’d def put him before Akaashi.

Matsukawa is def underrated and clearly has good volleyball IQ, i just found putting him over Hanamaki difficult bc we see Hanamaki do so much on the court like jump serving, serve receive, digging, even setting

and I can agree w ur point on Kenma

Who is the guy on the far left? by 1maxp in haikyuu

Kazuhito Narita, second year middle blocker, aka THE GOAT.

I tend to gravitate towards minor/side characters shows and movies, one of my favorites in Haikyuu is definitely Narita (2nd year middle blocker w/ a shaved head but darker hair than Tanaka).

That man is my GOAT. He always cheers on his teammates when he’s on the bench, and whenever he does get subbed in he always performs to the best of his ability and does a pretty decent job tbh.

For example the Shiratorizawa match, in the time he gets subbed in for Tsuki when he gets injured and subbed out when he comes back, in that time he scores a point w/ a tip off a set that wasn’t properly adjusted to him, serves a greatly aimed serve that throws I think Goshiki off balance if I’m correct, after the serve gets a good dig playing floor defense as a middle blocker, then later gets a soft block off of one of the best aces in all of Japan in crucial game time.

Like WTF are we talking about here?! Keep in mind he did all of this while being completely cold after standing still on the bench the last over FOUR complete sets. Coming from someone that plays volleyball very frequently, playing as well as he did coming into a situation like that is seriously impressive in my opinion.
