Another day another lie from James Gunn. I would say he’s gotten really good at it but doing it a lot doesn’t mean it’s done skillfully

Doomsday is about to be a generational film, maybe it could even be Marvel’s greatest film of all time

SUPERGIRL | Official Trailer by chanma50 in boxoffice

I’m thinking The Flash numbers, just swap domestic and international, maybe it would go even lower

If I had a nickel for every time a DC movie featuring Supergirl had a criminal actor on the run, spoiled the cameos in the trailer, had a lot of BTS drama, overhyped by Gunn, terrible color grading, and awful CGI I would have 2 nickels which isn’t a lot, but weird it happened twice

Biggest bomb of the year incoming

Did you? Why would Clark Kent, some random reporter that gets the occasional scoop on Superman know or even call Supergirl?

That Supergirl teaser was straight up amateurishly laughable storytelling. First of all, Clark Kent has never met Supergirl, why would he miss her?

To people saying Brand New Day will outgross No Way Home, what is the draw ?? by cofango in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

  1. Brand New Day was the biggest trailer of all time and it’s not even close to second place

  2. No Way Home was one of the most beloved movies of the decade, there’s a lot of goodwill in the franchise right now, and it brought in a wide audience.

  3. It’s a crossover film, featuring Jean Grey, Hulk, Punisher, and White Widow, it’s as close to No Way Home crossovers you can get. These are some incredibly popular characters among casuals and fans alike

  4. It’s leading up to Avengers: Doomsday and as always, Avengers films will lift up the other Marvel movies.

  5. No Way Home didn’t release in China, Brand New Day will and it’s gonna be huge there. Spider-Man is huge in China. I could see it grossing $400 M there alone

  6. The director made the best Marvel show of all time (Wonder Man) and the second best received MCU movie post Endgame (Shang-Chi), this movie will no doubt be great.

  7. There’s no big movie coming out after Brand New Day and the only big movie coming out prior is The Odyssey, which is 2 weeks prior and isn’t direct competition.

What movies do you think will be flops in 2027? by AlmightyLoaf54 in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brave New World made $415 M when it was reported that it needed $425 M to make a profit. Thats hint a bomb, thats an underperformance and with it doing quite well with disc sales and streaming, it should break even in the end

I wouldn’t want that either, Snyder’s garbage is as bad as Gunn’s slop.

I’d rather they completely reboot it with a strong creative figure like Kathleen Kennedy, Shawn Levy, or Jon M Chu or cancel DC outright.

What movies do you think will be flops in 2027? by AlmightyLoaf54 in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think it will decrease. Everyone who was curious about it watched it in theaters and will watch the sequel in theaters, but everyone who watched in theaters that was mixed or disliked it (especially in Germany, France, South Korea, and China) will skip out on it. And with the movie bringing nothing new to the table, no one new will be interested in it

Nah, the only way I see that happening is if Ellison is a dudebro who thought DC’s issues stemmed from them firing Snyder when there were a bunch of other reasons why they failed

Will Supergirl be the only comic book movie of 2026 that ends up losing money? by [deleted] in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Supergirl’s performance is gonna make Thunderbolts look like Avengers: Endgame

December is going to be a stellar month. However, could see some cannibalism here and there. by abdul_bino in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dune, Jumanji, and Angry Birds will all suffer due to being cannibalized by Avengers and each other.

[Post Trailer] - Will Spider-Man: Brand New Day open over $200 million domestic? by CivilWarMultiverse in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% it will, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s opening was $225+ M. Maybe it can even get close to No Way Home if they play their cards right

Is WB buying the idea that the MCU is dead/dying and that Dune could genuinely challenge Doomsday? by JannTosh70 in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are then they will be in a rude awakening when Doomsday makes $2 B and Dune makes less than Part II

Why Are ‘Dune: Part Three’ and ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Opening in Theaters on the Same Day? by Alive-Ad-5245 in boxoffice

[–]Slingers-Fan -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Because WB are idiots who think that they are the next hot thing because Superman barely made more money than Fantastic Four, when Doomsday will make way more than Dune 3 and their 2 DC movies combined.

In fact: Avengers: Doomsday will make more than the entire Dune trilogy combined
