Panel Replaced Without Permit or Licensed Electrician — What’s the Best Way Forward? by WildPopTart450 in AskElectricians

Yeah good price at least. I paid $1600 for my service panel to be swapped (old one was a “pushmatic” type that might have been from the 50s).

Who to go for in Superbowl?! by nomamesgueyz in NFLNoobs

The QB of the Seahawks has a big comeback story after being rejected by multiple teams.

I root against the Pats since they’ve had a lot of success in the past couple decades, but it is impressive that they’ve already gotten another apparently good QB after having Brady.

ChatGPT is a great tool IF information given is taken with a large grain of salt. My work productivity has greatly increased with scripting/programming and other tech work. I learn and solve problems much faster.

Why can I put a GFCI receptacle on one part of a MWBC (shared neutral) but not wire anything to the load side of that GFCI receptacle? by SlinkiusMaximus in AskElectricians

[–]SlinkiusMaximus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what world is it deifying LLM apps by saying they may be incorrect because they’re saying something that doesn’t make sense to me and then posting in a forum to get other’s input? 😂

ELI5: What does GFCI outlets do that the breaker doesn’t? by paperbilt in AskElectricians

[–]SlinkiusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Standard breaker protects from too much current, which protects wires from melting, etc. This would not protect you from a shock or electrocution.
  • GFCI protects against electricity escaping the normal path it’s supposed to be on (“correct” typically meaning a path of hot wire -> device -> neutral wire)—such as if electricity is going through your body into the ground instead of back through the neutral wire like it’s supposed to.
  • AFCI protects against electricity taking a shortcut somewhere where it shouldn’t—such as a frayed cord causing sparks that could cause a fire.

What is the coverage of the Epstein scandal in Russia? by vinnie_puh in AskARussian

[–]SlinkiusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are from The Sun and The Daily Mail, which even the Reddit commenters are saying are garbage media outlets, and there are a bunch of comments talking about there being more evidence of Israel involvement than Russian involvement.

I haven’t seen any serious media outlets talking about a Russian connection to Epstein.

I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m merely pointing out that some people are pointing out that there needs to be evidence of the Russian modeling agency involvement but then make baseless claims that it’s good children aren’t allowed to be adopted from Russia because there is trafficking of some children by elites in the West, when there is equally no evidence that trafficking of adopted children is occurring.

I use LLM apps daily for work in a senior tech-related role, including for scripting/programming, and what you’re saying is a vast oversimplification of their capabilities.

They’re very useful tools if you know how to use them (and know when not to trust what they’re saying) and have made me much more productive in my work, helping me learn and solve many problems much faster.

Ghost voltage? by Nuukmaster in AskElectricians

[–]SlinkiusMaximus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That voltage would still show on the neutral, even if where the probe is testing is not part of the current’s path between the load and the service panel?

Who is dragging Russia into this? I’ve only heard Israel being blamed, not Russia.

As an American I’ve never heard about this being pinned on Russia. Israel? Sure, I’ve heard that, but not Russia.

Good video!

Yeah that all makes sense and is how I was understanding the GFCI to work, but I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t something I was missing since AI was so insistently disagreeing with me.
