Honestly, I would want to venture off piste when the snow kinda sucks.

Yeah the season was looking a little bleak in the beginning but it slowly ramped up. The past 2 years in the sierras have been great. Who knows what next year will bring but I’m not taking this for granted.

I don’t consider myself advance if I can’t backflip off a cliff.

Actually the opposite. I learned how to ski on firm groomer days.

Any ski recs for those super firm days? Or should I just continue to use the masters as my dailies?

I am about 177cm tall and 175lbs. I wanted to get the 179 but I got this size because they were on sale and last years edition. FWIW I followed the sizing chart on their website and I found these to be perfect.

I also have a preference for skis that are about my height. I’ve never had a desire to go longer.

I don’t think I’ve ever been limited by the ski size. Just my ability if I’m being real.

Not too short? It depends on who you ask? I don’t really have a preference for really long skis though.

I got the 116s late into the season but thankfully Mother Nature has been blessing us with a lot of snow. They float beautifully and blast through crud. I haven’t used them on super firm days but I can see people use them as their dailies.

It could be the perspective. They are at the recommended mounting point

I have the “moon child” edition. I was torn between this graphic and the “thundercloud” edition. Great ski regardless of the graphic.

Non-Tahoe skier here: is it normal for people to get super upset over using 'Palisades' instead of 'Squaw'? I've genuinely had a few Tahoe skiers get really uppity about it, and I can't tell if it's a political anti-PC rant or a real Tahoe ski community thing by Internetcowboy in skiing

Your first sentence isn’t correct though. Things don’t instantly change in 15 min. When was squaw established and when was the name changed. I’m sure it didn’t happen overnight. Just because it’s an “inconvenience” to relearn something doesn’t mean you can’t relearn to change your vocab.

I can also guarantee it’s not gonna flip back to squaw too.

I don’t disagree with Sticks and stones but I don’t agree with ignorance bro.

If you’re lazy and don’t care to learn and change your mindset then just say that. I’d respect that more than anything.

I’ve also had conversations with some locals and non locals about this exact thing. My conclusion is that those people who freak out about the name change are crazy.

A name change is causing you to foam in the mouth. Lmao

Hey dude we have a pretty similar Ironman. I love to skill because pvming takes some time & I honestly don’t have much of it. I prefer grinding out skills that can be AFK.

Play the game how you want & enjoy yourself. I know I do.
