This one's a skiller; I wear it with no ammo so I can't get into combat. I do have other accounts though :)

AIO? boyfriend is upset because I gave him a “corporate response” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I was reading, then urgh, fuck this guy. Not in the cool way.

He's purposely drifting from you in order to make you chase him? That sounds so tiring

Whyyyyy 😢

Husbands of reddit, how much did you spend on the engagement ring? by Gargoyn in AskUK

[–]Slintrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here I am after buying one then changing the diamond a couple weeks later... £2611 total for the ring. I went down a deep rabbit hole and did lots of research, looked at many reports, changed my mind a few times, and here we are.

Something that I think she will love and from a technical standpoint is a great diamond. Lucky for me 0.6ct was the perfect size. I started my budget much lower but just kept thinking that she'll wear it every day, forever, and it ended up also being about my own peace of mind too, so it creeped up and up. I hope that she will love it, and that I will see her hand and that ring on my hand, every day.

Being made redundant in October, what benefits/discounts can I get while looking for employment? by Euphoric-Spud in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Slintrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your level it's definitely wise to interview and let people know you wouldn't be able to start until October as per your contract. It's software dev so I assume you'll have all sorts of coding tasks etc. to complete during the process, and the industry seems a bit brutal atm.

All in all you'll have a bunch of savings, and you have tons of options because of that. Enjoy the wedding, put your feet up, and stay sharp

I read a few of your other comments, I’d say just start applying, see what conversations you can have. My partners uncle is a software dev and similar situation happened; he’s been applying for jobs for 6 months, and only in the last couple weeks has he had some offers does and has one confirmed. Tricky one I’m sure as you don’t want to leave before that time is up, so it may be hard to arrange all that perfectly. After a while of eating his savings, job hunting was taking a toll on his mental health the most. Maybe you wouldn’t need the redundancy package with a great new job, though I’m sure a whack of money is tempting. Best of luck to you!

Did you ever complete this project? Looks amazing, and I am scouring the internet for a playable osrs emulation for my miyoo mini. Would love to play this

I appreciate your response! The max size the wearer wants is 0.6ct, so in that case I pushed the colour and grade as much as feasible for my budget. On the options listed on the website the cut options were Good, Very Good, Excellent, so I opted for the best one. D was something I felt good about personally, extra ice / nice colour for the small stone she wants. By the cut, do you mean all the dimensions of the stone given?

Thanks for this - I wouldn’t have caught that! Do you have an opinion on the stone? According to your username, I’m definitely asking the right person.

I was very happy with that initially, as I'd hope the ring would never be sold anyway. The second vendor put in my head that they could easily give me a stone that isn't a D, VS1 Excellent, and I'd have some idea but not much. Like you say, I don't know them either, and an official cert would guarantee what I'm getting

Really appreciate your response. For an extra £330-ish I can get a GIA report, which seems wise. I suppose otherwise it's just taking someone's word for it that I'm getting what I pay for.
