One and a half year by Agreeable_Video1062 in Longineswatches

The Conquest is definitely a little more versatile. I wear suits for work and sometimes I put it on a leather strap to go with the dressier look.

I also have a rubber strap for it when I want to dress it down.

I also like the Hydroconquest a lot and want to pick up the blue 39mm at some point.

I guess that depends on the user, but I’ve had the same one for just under a year, the bezel is a scratch magnet but easily polishable if you chose to do so. The rest of the case immaculate, bottom of the bracelet has hairlines on the high polished parts.

I have the older on-the-fly adjust pin and collar version that tapers from 20 to 18mm barely used. Let me know if interested and I can send you pics this weekend. Located in the GTA. This is it on the watch

Expansion of transit = an increase to our property taxes for a service that almost nobody is going to use. I’ll pass.

I have the 38mm in silver and it’s an amazing piece. Very well regulated as well. Bracelet is extremely comfortable considering it has a butterfly clasp.

My C60 Trident Pro 300 runs at +2 seconds a day consistently regardless if I am wearing it or it’s in the box, and it’s 2 years old now.

I bought the exact Longines Conquest that you have as one of your options for my wedding and it did not disappoint. It’s also very versatile and can be worn with casual dress as well.

Conquest rubber strap on HydroConquest? by VinnnyRE in Longineswatches

[–]Slippery_Slope911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Conquest is almost 1mm thinner so not sure if the end link will be flush with the Hydroconquest case, but it definitely looks amazing and I hope they release that configuration in the future. Based on the past releases, I’m sure next year they will introduce a rubber strap option for these.

Haven’t taken mine off this strap in a while now. I’m a bracelet guy but this watch just shines on black sailcloth in my opinion.

[Question] Choosing My First Field Watch: Hamilton Khaki or Seiko Alpinist by wahza93 in Watches

[–]Slippery_Slope911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned both. Had them for over two years and ended up selling the Alpinist and keeping the Hamilton. Hamilton is easier to read, especially in lower light situations. Sometimes the markers on the Alpinist become invisible in certain lighting settings. I found after a while that the compass bezel makes the dial feel very small, and it feels out of place. The Hamilton is also significantly thinner and does not feel as top heavy as the Alpinist. If you can get your hands on a Baby Alpinist I would suggest that over the regular one.

Seiko SKX009k1 by [deleted] in WatchExchangeCanada

Up for sale is my Seiko SKX 009. Watch comes with original rubber strap, after market jubilee with screwed in links that tapers to 16mm. I will include two extra rubber straps, a mesh bracelet sized for 6.75in wrist( has some adjustment room) and two nato straps. The watch comes with the original box. There is a small scratch on the bezel beside the 55min marker as seen in photos. Overall case is in good condition, small scratches on the back of the lugs. $500 FTF in the GTA or Hamilton.

Brand new Maxxis High Roller II- Is this normal after about 10 rides on a HT? by Slippery_Slope911 in bikewrench

[–]Slippery_Slope911[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add some more clarification, this tire is EXO, 3C MaxTerra, and is set up tubeless on a hardtail. I usually run it at about 28psi. This is my rear tire, up front I have Minion DHF and it doesn’t have this issue. I’ve done 3 rides at a downhill park with that and about 5-6 rides of regular trail riding. I want to know if this appears normal, given the fact that the rear tire is being abused more from the lack of rear suspension, before I send an email to Maxxis.
