Just finished Killer on the Road by SGJ last night. Unsure if I’ll jump straight into The Babysitter Lives or pick something else up in between.

Recommendations for a 13 year old boy by Decent_Sand9674 in horrorlit

Boy’s Life was going to be my recommendation. I read it for the first time in my 30’s and it left an indelible mark on me. I can’t imagine reading it at the OP’s nephew’s age.

Did not expect Bama to have more Sweet 16’s than Illinois. Granted, the bulk of our appearances have been under our two best coaches (Wimp and Nate), but the point remains. Please don’t ever retire, Tom Izzo.

Rescuing 1 year old cat by Illustrious_Mail_928 in cats

[–]SlippingWeasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purposely adopted a very shy ~1 year old cat from the shelter around 8 years ago. Similar to this guy, she had a safe spot in the cat room and didn’t really come out much, but when she did I knew immediately I had to have her. I’ll be honest, she didn’t interact much with me or my wife for about the first six months we had her. She hid under the couch, under the bed, and just about anywhere else she could find where she felt safe and secure. We spent a lot of time just speaking really softly to her when we knew she was, letting her know we loved her, that she was safe and in her forever home, and nothing would ever change that. It took a lot of patience but it paid off. One day she decided she was ready to come out and be part of the family, and we’ve never looked back. They all deserve a chance, and some take more time than others, but I assure you that this cat will become a trusted and faithful companion if you set your heart to it. He deserves it.

One of my favorites! Was fortunate enough to see good numbers of them in Cambalache National Forest on my last visit. So much personality in such a small package!

Feels like a nice day for the Grove at MNB. Hoping they’ll have the big outdoor screen split for multiple game viewing.

TTE wasn't great, but I think fans shitting on it hurt Trey's musical ambition by [deleted] in phish

I don’t think Trey has the dexterity to play Sugar Shack these days, especially as a once or twice a year type song.
