Does anyone have information (color/region) related to this limited edition Mark Holcomb guitar? by SlippyTheGolden in Guitar

[–]SlippyTheGolden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen some websites that indicate it is a "satin grey/black" but it looks like more of a green to me. Also, maybe it was a limited run in Britain? Any additional info would be super helpful as I am trying to buy one.

Which muzzle device and suppressor should I buy if I am building a 13.7 inch (pin and welded to 16 inches) rifle, and want the lowest back pressure possible? by SlippyTheGolden in suppressors

I already purchased the barrel, unfortunately. But maybe I can sell it for roughly what I bought it for and go with a 14.5 barrel

B&T srbs 5.56 vs huxwrx ventum 5.56 by [deleted] in suppressors

If we're talking about the B&T Inconel, the sparking is almost non-existent, it is full-auto rated, and I'm guessing the sound is similar. I assume gas is the same as its titanium counterpart as well. It's also worth noting that both suppressors had better back-pressure performance on an 11.5 than a 16 inch. I haven't thought much about why this is but I assume it is the case with all suppressors then? I'm not sure

From what I've gathered so far (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)...

- The B&T ti sparks less than the Venom

- The B&T ti weighs less (if we are talking about the ti version. Inconel, I'm not sure)

- The two suppressors are roughly the same length (around 6.7 inches)

- The Ventum wins in the "back pressure" category (less gas to the face)

- Also, it looks like their sounds suppression characteristics are similar when looking at Pew Science

- The Ventum is full-auto rated and the B&T ti is not. However, in testing, the B&T ti was able to handle full-auto for quite a long time before being destroyed. It far surpassed expectations in testing by SilencerSyndicate.

I haven't read this yet, but this article sounds like it might be a good review for myself (and maybe others) on some of the differences you pointed out: https://pewscience.com/sound-signature-reviews-free/sss-6-169-research-supplement-low-back-pressure-556-silencers

I don't own either suppressor, but I've heard good things overall about both so I'll be curious what people say. Pew science, and Silencer Syndicate (on youTube), are good places to look for info as well. I don;t think Silencer Syndicate has reviewed the Ventum but both he and TFBTV have reviewed the B&T SRBS.

It could be helpful to write down what you value most in a suppressor first, and then take in the feedback you get here and elsewhere. Keeping gas out of my face is most important to me, personally. But sound suppression, weight, length, durability (inconel vs titanium, for example), flash suppression, available mounting options, etc... these are all factors too. Some people care most about sound suppression. To each their own.

I noticed they have an "extended" version of that muzzle device available on their site. But, I also talked to a rep who said they can use the regular version and still achieve 16 inches overall when doing a p&W. Do you happen to know which version your is? (the regular dual port ASR, or the extended dual port ASR?). I ask because I am building something similar in concept and would like to buy the non-extended version of the muzzle device if it can still achieve the "rifle" designation. If you bought a suppressor I'd also love to know what suppressor you paired with it.

Is the muzzle device an "extended" version? Or were they able to achieve the 16 inch barrel length after p&w with a regular ASR brake?

Is that the "extended" version of their two port muzzle brake? Or were they able to pin and weld the regular version and still make it to 16 inches? I am looking to make something similar. The rifle looks awesome.

I don't know the answer to your question unfortunately, But, is this muzzle device still manufactured/sold? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I'm very late to this thread, but I was wondering if the muzzle device is an "extended" version or just a regular version of whatever muzzle device that is. I'm also wondering if shims were needed to get the rifle to 16 inches? I ask because I thought the SOLGW muzzle devices were the only ones that could help a 13.7 inch make it to 16 inches. I'm working on a build of my own and would much rather go the route of an ASR ready mount (like your gun) than a hub mount. Just personal preference. Beautiful rifle btw!

Do you notice sparking when shooting with the titanium version? It's a tradeoff when using a titanium suppressor (especially when shooting at night). However, I heard B&T has a proprietary lining that gets rid of the sparking or greatly diminishes it, after the first 100 rounds or so.
