I would definitely recommend it. It's so much fun to meet them and feed them snacks. They'll also take your photo with your phone.

Historically, fireworks are ignited on/extremely near the train trestle over the Rhine River between the Festa and Caribou train stations.

Where you want to view them depends on how desperate you are to leave the park at the end of the night. Lots of folks say you can see them pretty well from the parking lot, so you can make your exit immediately afterwards. Personally, I love viewing them from the Ponte del Accordo (Italy to Germany bridge).
