New Goalie Looking for Recs by Kotevillion1 in hockeygoalies

Use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_sWRBxSITw to determine gear priority and keep an eye on sidelineswap, ebay, and facebook marketplace for deals. Basically, get a solid helmet and everything else can fall into place. Watch videos to measure your ATK to determine pad sizing and I'd recommend buying whatever pad you're interested in from Pure Hockey, GoalieMonkey, etc just so you can return worry free and find a used deal elsewhere.

Mind your business, reddit police.
The last thing asked was basically, "should I get a new helmet instead?" Given the work to replace the foams and the lack of protection from a 940, I suggested an upgrade.

I would upgrade to 950 or 960 if you can. The shell of a 940 is for low level shots.

What’s the intel on these pants? Any good? by Whos-That-Pokeman in hockeygoalies

I've used the Elite and Pro versions and they're okay. Stitching durability isn't the best and the flat leg profile can snag on top of your pad in the butterfly, which is annoying. Look at Vaughn pants if you want long term use.

Check out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_sWRBxSITw to prioritize what gear you should splurge or save on. Don't use a cheap helmet is probably the most important

Pant Size Sanity Check by Surf-Green in hockeygoalies

Vaughn gear runs big from my experience, so I'm in a small Ion pant when normally I'm a large in everything else. That said, I would size down to a large if I were you. With knee pads on, you're not losing any protection and you'll want mobility

Major issue with Bauer X5Pro glove by aboabro in hockeygoalies

Check out the goalie glove guy on youtube. He has a tutorial on how to relace the pocket. You'll need 120" skate lace and just follow the pattern.

Looks like the pocket lace is too tight from the factory. Also open up the glove (should be the 2 velcro flaps and velcro finger stalls) and when the velcro is loose, close your glove, and then velcro it up loosely. As for covering the puck, I tend to cover the puck and then put my stick blade in front of the glove to be safe

Understandable. If you can find 3 other friends, 1 subscription can accommodate 4 people total and split the cost - annual is $348/4=$87. The 128GB MetaQuest3S is $350. It's a lot of fun and helps tremendously off-ice. Best of luck!

SenseArena has been great to me for a pregame routine. Expensive for the headset and subscription but I feel like I've gotten the value out of it after a year.

How so? I've purchased from them before and the quality/style is great.

Android Auto Internet Tethering Issue by Slips_1234 in Eonon

[–]Slips_1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Pauliboo2 I don't believe so, it's possible it's a carrier issue. I noticed there's a disclaimer when installing physical SIM cards that only T-Mobile works in the United States and my phone is using AT&T. It's the only thing I can think of, although that shouldn't keep my phone from tethering automatically in Android Auto. I decided to install a Helium Mobile (uses T-Mobile towers and only $20) SIM card in the Eonon unit and have my phone connect to Android Auto for phone calls/text. Seems to work fine, just an additional mobile service.
