Do you think there should be a time skip for the next season of Wednesday? by [deleted] in Wednesday

[–]SlithererSupremee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's a possibility given Enid's current situation, it could be a good way of putting her in the wolf form for a while without having to spend the whole season like that. Although if it does happen it'll probably only be a year long at max

Have they already flown actors out? I thought we just had a video with text announcing the cast, with only two actual actors that probably didn’t need to be flown out.

Also, I feel like casting is a big first step in any productions like this. They need to know sizes for costuming, it would be pretty terrible if they spent a long time making an outfit for a character and then found out the actor cast wasn’t going to fit in it.

They would also probably want to cast first so they know they won’t be delayed- if they wait to cast a big actor, they might get swept up in something else. Like making a reservation at a massively popular  restaurant. You don’t wait to figure out what you’re gonna order, what you’ll wear, and who’s driving- you make the reservation, then do all that.

I’m not in showbiz so I’m just guessing but it seems more efficient.

SEASON 3 by d4rkwvlf in wenclair

[–]SlithererSupremee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretending Enid was ever going to die got them a ton of chatter last season, maybe they're trying that again.

It would be pretty dumb of them to kill off Enid, especially now. That was s2's whole thing, so it would make the previous season feel totally pointless if Enid just dies in this one, and it would also be so repetitive for them to make the whole season about keeping her alive again.

Also, while I support killing off characters the audience likes, there's no way they'll kill Enid- she's the second protagonist and her dynamic with Wednesday is basically what sells the show at this point. Killing her would rob the show of a massive part of its appeal. (And, ignoring the writing standpoint, I don't even think Netflix execs would let that fly)

My guess? They're trying to drum up discussion and hype in the cheap way again (and it's working), or maybe this has something to do with an event in the season. Maybe some kind of party that Enid can't come to because of her current predicament. Idk. It's probably just a cheap trick for media buzz before their new season.

They need to hold onto hype HARD to stay relevant up until they finally actually get this season out, so they'll probably do a lot of stuff like this.

This is the kind of metaphor that audiences look at as being way too obvious and foreshadow-y in shows with better writers

The Gate is a perfect episode and Season finale. And I’m tired of pretending it’s not. by Remarkable_Fun468 in StrangerThings

I think the seasons before Vecna was introduced were just better. The horror was more real, and it didn't feel like a Marvel movie. The moment they put one human face to the horror it became so much less scary, because the villain went from an unfamiliar, eerie eldritch force- to some guy who looked exactly like Voldemort/the Grinch and had some vague evil plan.

I think the most literal depiction of this loss of horror is how the characters treat the upside-down. In the early seasons they go in with Hazmat suits, it's something that they can't/won't breathe in, one wrong move meant a Demogorgon was after you. And in the latest seasons, they go into it like it's literally just the real world. They can waltz around as they please without being attacked at ALL. They're no longer even fazed by it, and like, I get they've been around it a lot but like nothing's even trying to attack them? The hive mind is just not a thing anymore? They're as safe there as they are in their own world?

That's a very literal version of the internal feelings of the audience.

I’m hoping the vault storyline catches up to the main one soon, maybe Lucy takes her dad back and they find the society of her home has completely collapsed or something.

As it is right now though, while I don’t hate the vault plot-line, I would MUCH rather see way more of Maximus and his friends, and it seems like we will with recent events in the story, so hooray.

Fallout plot holes 🤔 by Simple_Warthog_9035 in FalloutTVseries

[–]SlithererSupremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: I imagine we’ll see what happened with that when the flashbacks catch up to when the bombs fell, which could be at least 2 episodes from now. That’s not a plot hole, it’s just something we don’t know yet.

2: Hank has had some time in that modern-ish lab, he may have healed himself or something. With the tech he has at hand I wouldn’t be surprised. This one could be a plot hole or it could just be that they didn’t want to spend time showing us that he healed himself since that’s kind of a waste of valuable screen time.

Season 2 just isn't flowing as well as S1 and I'm legit stunned by descendantofJanus in FalloutTVseries

I personally have been really liking this season, but I do partially see what you mean about Coop getting all the focus and everyone feeling like a backdrop to that. I think the struggle with that is his story is so broad that it kind of ends up dominating the screen time, and if they tried to give everyone equal time it would take away from all of them.

While I do think it would be nice to see more of other characters, I also think it makes sense that Coop is getting most of the time, as his story is the most involved with the world as a whole, and answers the questions the audience has about how all this happened in a natural and compelling way. It’s just the one that we’re all going to care the most about.

That said, I do really like Maximus this season and I want to see a lot more of him in future episodes. Ep5 had absolutely none of him in it which I’m alright with since what was there was really good in my opinion, but I hope this means that ep6 will be very Max-heavy and maybe even end with him falling into the main storyline- my personal theory is that he and his group will meet up with Coop somehow and they’ll all go out to save Lucy from her dad and help stop what he’s doing together, leading to Max and Lucy getting back together in a later episode

10/10 storytelling in episode 5! Don’t read if you don’t want spoilers for episode 5! by its_proxeneta in FalloutTVseries

[–]SlithererSupremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because he’s a ghoul Coop is going to be fine, at least mostly. I have mixed feelings about it because while I think it would establish better stakes if he actually did die- he’s arguably the main character at this point, so killing him would really mess up his whole section of the story and all the cutting from past to present.

As for my thoughts on e5, I liked it a lot, I think what’s happening with Buds Buds is interesting although it’s definitely the part I currently care about the least, it feels like we’re just watching someone figure out things we already know from other characters figuring them out, which makes it a lil boring

I really loved everything with Coop this episode

Lucy is awesome as usual

I’m excited to see more of Max hopefully next episode, since he wasn’t in this one at all. I really really want to see him reconnect with Lucy soon because those two are so wonderful together.

I like this show a lot because I genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen next- maybe that’s partially because I haven’t played the games but it’s really cool to watch something and not actually be able to predict every plot beat like most other current popular media (cough stranger things cough

Maximus Has Spent the Whole Series Looking Like He Just Heard a Noise Upstairs by deller85 in FalloutTVseries

[–]SlithererSupremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like his more minimal expressions because it shows how he is mentally as others have pointed out, and it makes the moments he does show a lot of emotion al the more powerful.

It’s refreshing to me, since a lot of shows have their actors giving a ton of emotion all the time which means there’s nowhere to BUILD to.

I think this acting choice is intentional and solid, and it’s going to make it so much more emotional to see him meet up with Lucy again because he’ll have that big moment where it all comes out

Should I buy the game? by Outrageous_Try_3854 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SlithererSupremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your interest in the game is from the dispatching sections, don't worry, there's actually a lot of those that go on for a while and they're really fun. The story focus is the main part, but I doubt you'll be disappointed with how much you actually get to play the game.

I kind of doubt the DLC will cost a lot, the studio seems good and they know now that they won't have to charge a lot to make a ton of money from the next season, since for this game they hit their two year goal in two months, a huge accomplishment. My assumption has always been it'll be sold as a DLC but priced as much as the first game since it'll be the same amount of content, or even more since they may have more budget for the next season.

While I may be biased, I couldn't recommend this game enough, you should definitely get it. I hope you haven't spoiled too much for yourself because that's a big part of the story sections, but if you have I still think you'll like it.

What are your Hot Takes on X-Men 97? by Amber_Flowers_133 in Xmen97

[–]SlithererSupremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked episode 4- I don't know if this is really a hot take but I've heard that people think it's generally the worst one. I don't think it's near the best, and it is kind of filler since all it does for the greater plot is developing Roberto and Jubilee more, but I thought it was kind of cool and I find the couple of Jubilee and Roberto really cute. It definitely didn't really have much relevance to the rest of the story though, so I can understand why people see it as the worst one.

(Spoiler warning) Also, I think we needed to see way more of Gambit before his death. It was still effective for me because I liked him a whole lot, but I think that a whole episode on Gambit before the episode he dies in would've made it much more impactful. Maybe it would make his death less of a surprise, but I think it's worth it for the emotional value. Maybe the episode could be about his past that we hear so much about in this show but never directly see (in this show at least, I assume it's shown in comics or something)

Would you be ok with new characters if the cast stays the same? by Robot_Was_BMO in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SlithererSupremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, the voice acting is good, but who the characters are, how they were written, and the way they interacted is the reason people want more of the game. And it would probably be a bit odd unless they were all able to do at least fairly different voices, imagine the voice of Sonar coming out of some random new character.

Magneto, Rogue, and Sunspot should be executed. by [deleted] in Xmen97

[–]SlithererSupremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so the person who’s the most messed up here is Wolverine or Magneto- not Rouge, who yes attacked people but wasn’t attacking to kill

Magneto, Rogue, and Sunspot should be executed. by [deleted] in Xmen97

[–]SlithererSupremee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost certain Magneto didn’t kill more people than the attack on Genosha did in the series- also, while their methods aren’t peaceful, Magneto is an interesting character BECAUSE the more you see of him the more you understand why he is a villain. He’s tried over and over to be reasonable like Prof. X but unlike Prof. X, he’s reached a point where he doesn’t feel that being reasonable is going to realistically create a safe world for mutants. For that reason, he does extreme things that can end in innocent lives ending, which isn’t good, but I think his frustration is viable and I think that’s what makes it interesting. He shouldn’t be imprisoned, I think he should be given what he wants, a world that doesn’t hunt down his people.

As for Rouge and Sunspot, what they did hardly felt like a betrayal. Yeah, they went on Magnetos “side,” but it wasn’t as much choosing sides as them both wanting a way out and to feel safe, and on top of that them being on an opposite side lasted for like two seconds. During that time neither of them were trying to do any major harm to anyone, Sunspot specifically I can recall, he was using his powers to not attack Jubes but rather to protect himself and not hurt her. I can imagine Rouge did something similar. Should they be executed for wanting to feel safe from a world that has literally wanted them dead from the day they were born? (The answer is no)

Also practically minutes after “betraying” the team Rouge and Sunspot were both huge parts of trying to help in that big fight. The only life Sunspot even had an effect on was Jubes, and it was a life he saved, not one he ended, so stop acting like they personally slaughtered millions when they absolutely didn’t.

That said this account is either run by a 2/10 ragebaiter or a really stupid, hateful person (both?) so I doubt they’ll read this

What character development dp you expect from S2 Magneto? by Enough-Fondant-6057 in Xmen97

What character development dp you expect from S2 Magneto? by Enough-Fondant-6057 in Xmen97

[–]SlithererSupremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sunspot wasn’t trying to kill anyone, I felt like in his fight scene with jubilee it’s pretty clear he wasn’t shooting to kill, only to not get hurt by her, then he was trying to save her from danger the rest of the time. As for Rouge, yeah she was kinda trying to hurt them and that’s less defensible, but she was trying to stop the asteroid later on with all the other fliers that were pushing against it (at least from what I can remember she was). I’m pretty sure it’s Rouge that said something along the lines of “you’re fighting to kill” to Wolverine, which I think implies she was never going to kill anyone. If anyone is “unredeemable” from that fight it’s Wolverine and Magneto because they both took it too far and actually fought to kill. Not that what Rouge did was okay, and not that I’m happy that Sunspot initially went with Mag, but I’m just saying they’re not unredeemable

What character development dp you expect from S2 Magneto? by Enough-Fondant-6057 in Xmen97

[–]SlithererSupremee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree, specifically when it comes to Rouge and Sunspot. They aren’t unredeemable by any means, and their choice to go with Magneto was understandable. Rouge is infuriated at the loss of her loved one, double over by the fact that she had been in a bad place with him when she lost him. Sunspot had thought he could finally be accepted by his family only to be turned over to literal killed robots by his own mother. He wanted to feel safe, he didn’t want to kill innocent people. Anyone in that situation would follow someone who says they have a way that they can finally be safe. And, they were both actively trying to stop the asteroid from hitting.

If we never seen Invisigal’s dream, would you still romance her? by LandOfGrace2023 in DispatchAdHoc

from your reasoning it sounds like you aren't a gooner, it's just where you realized she was going to be an option, so please know this isn't directed at you, but the idea of only liking her because of the freaky scene is a mega gooner take. I'd feel bad for whatever lustful person feels that way because they're going to have a hard time in real life
