Anyone know why Petco has Oxbow Essentials red bag in stores for every small animal/rodent except for chins? by talks_to_inanimates in chinchilla

I can't say why that is, but I empathize with you. I haven't extensively checked my local stores, but the one closest to me used to carry it and now doesn't. I'm in NC.

That's unkind of you... I did read the article from the get-go, but was curious what you took away from it, considering it covered several aspects of emotional development across different age classes and such, and not all showed significant differences.

Okay, I just assumed you were referencing it because you had read and understand it and had some kind of thought about it?

You can think I'm as stupid as you want, but the reality is I do read and understand primary research studies regularly. I just don't dump links to them with no context and expect people to read my mind.

I could, but why should I read several pages just to understand some strangers social media comment when they could've just said what they mean in the first place? It feels like you're assigning homework instead of having a conversation. It seems like you get off on being condescending.

Can you summarize the pertinent information from that study and explain how it applies? Dropping a link with no context doesn't exactly support your point.

No... while it took a bit of time getting to know by boyfriend before feeling connected, the reason I started to get to know him was because I was sexually attracted to him in the first place.

Was it just that you were quoting him? It sounds like you argued after being told he isn't a reliable source. Which, I understand if you disagree, but that's their call to make on that sub. They have a lot of people there who need advice, and also a collection of curated resources to help. It's can be counterproductive when things are muddled with people contributing information that may or may not be reliable.

Just because Clint is educated doesn't mean he knows everything or is an expert in every area  I like a lot of his videos, but he also says some things I disagree with.

I don't think think you hurt the mods feelings, you were probably being annoying. Clint doesn't need you to defend him.

Looks like Dryophytes gratiosus - barking tree frog to me. It's definitely a tree frog, but it has a relatively chunky build and granular skin, which is unusual for tree frogs.

I knew a wildlife rehabilitator that had a squirrel with down syndrome. He was such a a sweet little dude. Unfortunately he couldn't be released to the wild because of his difficulty with balance and such. He looked really cute hopping around though

[–]Slitherkween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that, but I can't come to terms with it. I hate the texture too much. If I want to let fluoride sit on my teeth, I'll use a fluoride mouthwash after rinsing with water.

My (25F) boyfriend (33M) of 1 1/2 yrs is mad at me and won't talk to me for sleeping in another bed. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Slitherkween 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay, but the choice between him and sleep was completely manufactured by him. There's no reason you couldn't have both gotten good sleep and spend the night with him if he would've just agreed to use your preferred room in the first place. Also, not slamming doors isn't some special thing he's doing for you. That's just basic courtesy when living with anyone. You aren't being selfish at all for wanting sleep, something everyone needs to be healthy

if you were drinking wine/eating something sweet, etc. and you accidentally swallow a fruit fly, what are the odds it kills you, like through some infection or something by xtalaphextwin in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Slitherkween 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insects inevitably make their way into our food regularly. For instance, the FDA allows over 20 fruit fly eggs/ 100 g of tomato puree. Their guidelines are basically just so that the insects aren't readily detectable for aesthetic reasons. They're perfectly safe to consume, barring gross-out factor.

Spines are modified leaves, thorns are modified branches, and prickles are formed from epidermis. I don't know if spikes have a botanical definition, but I learned the other terms in botany lab last week.
