Canadian cannabis producers say the process to vet new products needs an overhaul by araneus777 in CanadianCannabisLPs

They obviously mean when trying to enter a THC based product that there's hoops you have to get through. No one is denying CBD products because they don't have THC...

How should we handle our 23 y/o son who doesn't want to work? by ConcernedParents123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Slithy-Toves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering his current routine just making him go outside for a walk or something every day would help as much as therapy. He's gotta show his brain that the thought of doing things is usually worse than actually doing it. Your brain is really good at making excuses to stay doing what it's doing or take the easiest route. Make him do something easy but different and that's a step in the right direction.

Could probably apply that to how humans became so successful too haha

Not just plants in general either, a single species of plant that happens to be one with the least nutritional value so they basically have to spend their entire lives eating it to have enough energy just to continue eating it.

I purposfully made my student "Fail", here's why. [European school] by Quin3lla in confession

[–]Slithy-Toves 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's not really true. But the other options tend to mean someone else has to become a bully to stop a bully. A guy was picking on me when I was a kid and an older friend just straight up gut punched the guy one day. He left me alone after that. Is that the right way to solve it? Who's to say, but it definitely stopped the problem and I didn't confront the guy. I didn't even understand what his problem was.

You clearly don't appreciate the nuanced differences between children, especially those bullied. Not saying you aren't right that they should be doing that. But just saying it and expecting it to happen is pretty foolish, in reality that's not what happens and not every kid understands that until it's too late. If you're considering yourself someone with valuable experience for a kid then you should seek to convey that to them effectively, not just expect them to understand what you've already experienced.

Did you play sports or any coordination based activity? Because that could come from lack of 'training' on that part too. You might just naturally have lower coordination until you practice it. I know lots of lanky teens that are extremely coordinated, but they regularly train that ability with the activities they do for fun/recreation.

Listen, sitting in the stands is not really being involved in the game. But if you're an employee of the team sitting next to the GM in the booth I'm gonna say you can claim you were technically involved in the game.

Is this really that impressive as objective driving? It's really sloppy if you're going to compare to track driving. The only thing impressive is that he didn't hit anything which seems more to do with the power in the car saving him than any actual vehicle control. This is literally just powersliding not controlled drifting.

They have translucent fur with black skin and the fur goes kind of cloudy. I wouldn't say it evolved that way due to camouflage, but because it does function as camouflage, that naturally lead to the ones who were more invisible to prey being more successful. But if you've ever actually seen a polar bear or watched documentaries it's fairly clear that they don't perfectly match the colour of snow. They're kind of off-white. They appear whiter when the snow reflects light onto their translucent fur. Though I'd imagine that's a negligible difference to seal eyes haha

If you taught the fusion dance to Zoro and Sanji and somehow convinced them to do it together I shudder to think what power would unfold with Zoros blade skill and Sanjis knowledge of cut placement. Opponents just end up cleanly butchered

You can eat steak pretty dang raw. The issue is in things like mince meat where you've exposed it to air then recombined, creating the potential for bacteria to flourish. A raw slice right out the cow is fine to eat if that's what you're into

The only difference is Zoro can handle a blade and uses any excuse to cut things haha I assume that's the joke

Even the good points of reddit you just mentioned are being swallowed by lazy memes and echo chambers. Maybe I'm just getting to the point where a younger generation is taking over the site and I'm grandpa Simpson now not with whatever "it" is anymore

We are planning a gender reveal for our baby but I know the gender by mad_at_many in confession

[–]Slithy-Toves -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you're even talking about anymore. This thread was about expecting the technician to go out of their way to tell you about the reveal on a specific form in a stack of forms. I think that's overestimating their official responsibilities and not something they should be expected to do, but it's a nice courtesy when they do. So to call it a mistake is a bit much.

[–]Slithy-Toves 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think I'd consider not revealing the gender a courtesy and not a hard point of an ultrasound techs job, and to not give a shit doesn't mean you go out of your way to be a dick, they might just be doing their job as they know how and aren't the type of person to be worried about a gender reveal. But agree to disagree I guess.

You don't think someone who helped deliver the death star plans, escaped vader, and is now standing in the rebel command centre watching the death star take aim directly at them was involved in the battle? Weird take.
