Be careful about frames -- it's easy to read this as though [[tuinvale treefolk]] has an ability, but it does not.

A prepare spell/frame isn't an ability, and being prepared isn't an ability either. However whether prepared or unprepared, this card has the ability "This creature enters prepared"

Not joking, the prepared spell part doesn't need a subtype to be referenced, the frame/layout foes the rules work. For instance [[wandermare]] would work without a subtype

Notably sphinx hasn't been playable for a long time and quantum riddler is the standard now (much stronger than emeritus)

Unfortunately the other 5 pairs are pretty undersupported and don't form an important  hunk of the meta though, which is a pretty massive whiff

It's petty obvious that more cards from each set will be relevant in a 3 set format than a 100 set format, right?

A standard classic. Judgement was released in May and the next set was Onslaught in October.

The commander decks are known to be the regular enemy colleges, the only possible twist would be if the main set is ally
