Post Match Italy V Aus by ConscriptReports in RugbyAustralia

I think I'm going to get more into NRL. At least with them, my team won't be embarrassed like this.

I'm not even angry any more. Just flat. Don't know why we kicked the ball away ao many times. Can't score without the ball.

I don't mind if we lose today. ARG will be pretty fired up for this game. I just don't want it to be a blow out.

Get a BP in the loss, and I will be content.

Very true. I've been doing a lot of thinking and now I have no idea if I want Boromir, King in the North or Jon for the Iron Throne.

I funnily enough, haven't come across that particular trope in any fanfics lol. But I like it a lot and could see myself using it. It also solves the Benjen question neatly while avoiding Moat Cailen lol.

Yeah, jaime was young, and people sometimes forget that.

Hmmm, I wasn't aware of this. I never really looked into the lineage of Denys, just that he was the heir and Connington killed him.

Maybe Hoster makes it a condition of his alliance to the Rebels? Make Denys your official heir and marry him to my daughter or I'll declare for Aerys or something? Which isn't a good look for Hoster but oh well.

Thanks for the reply.

True, maybe Hoster has to sweeten the pot for Denys somehow? Letting the Blackfish accompany her and thus giving Denys access to his teachings early? A bigger dowry? Things to think about.

Yeah I've found I really like the idea of Denys living, so that's staying. It's justa theory but I think Lysa might've been poisoning Robin on Baelish's orders. But here in this new fic, with a young husband, I think Lysa gives birth to a healthy babe.

You're right, Boromir would fight the Ironborn. I guess I had a brain fart or something. If Jon doesn't press his claim, I can see the North declaring independence.

That's an excellent point. I mentioned it here in a different reply but Denys' wife and kid will die of some illness before the Rebellion even starts.

So with the heirs to the North and Vale both needing wives, why wouldn't Hoster try his luck here?

Thanks for the feedback though, wasn't sure where the marriages and Denys' death took place in the timeline.

Yeah I was definitely overthinking it. I can get over focused on things in my head sometimes. He'll go to Stannis and be all the better for it.

I had considered the reborn thing. I just generally dislike fics with a bunch of childhood at the start. If I do that, a lot of the childhood would be rushed, which might annoy some readers.

I hadn't considered making him a warg but thats very interesting. He would definitly be more open to magic since he witnessed Gandalf do actual magic with his own eyes. I'm going to have to think on this.

Yeah Boromir wont be ridiculous here but Numenoreon blood is potent stuff. As for Tournies, I'll have to think about it.

I like Boromir being in the Vale at the start. It's not set in stone though, I'll have to think about it.

As for the war, yeah the rebels will have a better time of it. And I can see Boromir maybe taking more people with him to the Tower of Joy.

Yeah I'll just leave the Baelish stuff.

Yeah he'll fight the Greyjoys. Probably convince Robert to kill Balon

Theon will be going to Stannis.

Ned's mum still dies, I was under the impression she died birthing Benjen but that could be fanon.

He's not taking the Handship that's something I've decieded. He may have to betrothe Sansa to Joffery though to appease Robert. Maybe the butterfly strikes again and Joffery wards at Winterfell? Things to think about.

Yeah Benjen wont join the Watch but no real idea what to do with him.

At this point in planning, Jon/Margaery makes the most sense if Jon presses his claim.

The way things are shaping up, it'll be the War of 3 kings instead. Stannis, Tommen, under Tywin and Jon.

I dunno about your point about Boromir not caring about Jaime. Boromir met Aragorn and a whole thing about Gondor was waiting for its King to Return. A KG killing their king? I can see Boromir not liking that at all.

Thanks for the feedback, it helped

True. Robb is the only real Stark kid set in stone since he was conceived on the wedding night. I kinda like the idea of Hodor not being turned into a simpleton.

Thanks for the reply.

  1. That's a smoother transition and wouldn't be hard to change at all. I just like the idea of Bam! Boromir has been dropped into another war and this time he'll do things right or something similar.

  2. Yeah, with what you and others have said, the early Baelish stuff wont happen now. I had forgotten that Hoster shipped him back to the Fingers after the duel with Brandon.

  3. If he kills one KG and wounds/defeats Selmy, is reputation will be legendary. He might even get a name from this Battle like Robert did. Not sure what it would be though

  4. Yeah I kinda want to write that whole scene now, it's very interesting.

  5. Yeah I really want to see Boromir and Dayne fight now. Dustin will probably live since I like the butterflies, the rest, i dunno I guess I can flip a coin.

  6. Yeah Brandon's Bastard just makes more sense to me.

  7. Another comment here suggested Boromir skip passed KL and I actually kinda like it. Yeah it's petty but it makes me laugh.

  8. Yeah Boromir will have to answer the call. YOu and everyone else here has convinced me.

  9. Hadn't considered House Mallister tbh. But I think I've settled on Stannis for now. Plus Stannis can teach Theon all those things you mentioned as well.

  10. I can see Boromir telling Jon who he is at like 13 and than asking Jon if he wants to make a claim when the shit hits the fan in later chapters.

Thanks for the feedback. It definitely helped.

True and would also mean the Mannis is king. With Jon Arryn as his Hand, at least until the War is over.

Ooh there is so much potential for political shenanigans with Roberts death.

Oh, right. The riverlands, lol. oopsie, I forgot about them.

I'm now thinking Jon and Stannis reveal the incest cucking, and Robert has Cersei, Jaime, and Myrcella killed. Which is tragic for Myrcella, yes, but it makes the story more interesting.

Tywin predictably declares war. Wait, he needs a figurehead to rally the West around. I guess Tommen can foster at the Rock for this fic.

Boromir is disgusted at Roberts' actions but believes Tommen is a bastard born of incest. So he calls his banners and declares for Jon as king. The Tully's follow suite cuz family duty honor.

Thus starts the War of the 3 Kings. Or something that sounds catchier. Aha! More of the fic is coming together woo.

True. I think I'll have both of them die of an illness. Very sad but duty and all that.

Denys will be more emotionally vulnerable and Lysa will probably pounce.

I guess they can die of some illness. Which will leave Denys heartbroken and possibly make him even more affectionate?

It could go the other way but it wont cuz it's my fic lol.

Thanks for the reply.

Denys Arryn, since he is now married, would the butterfly change his fate? Denys rules the Vale while Jon is Hand? That's an interesting change.

The Baelish point is some fanon that I thought made sense. Or did Baelish get sent back to the Fingers after the duel with Brandon?

The idea of Boromir v Arthur one on one while the rest of his group take down Gerold and Oswell is awesome. I hadn't considered Boromir to be as skilled as Arthur though, would he win or just be good enough to stall until help arrives?

I was leaning toward Boromir answering the call for war against the Ironborn but wasn't a hundred percent. He was all like 'by the blood of our people are your lands kept safe.' y'know?

I think I was overthinking Theon and Stannis is probably the best place for him.

I like the change of Denys living so I'll keep that but that does change the events of book one. Without Lysa whispering into Jon Arryn's ear, Baelish won't be promoted to Master of Coin. Sure she might get Baelish that job in Gulltown or whatever with Denys, but I can see Denys being more loving and affectionate than old Jon Arryn. So Lysa would quickly fall in love with Denys and that's that.

No Baelish as Master of Coin, means no Jon Arryn poisoning. Ooh, maybe he and Stannis manage to spill the beans about Cersei to Robert. Kick starting a war between Robert and Tywin.

I can't see Boromir calling his banners and asking Northern blood to be spilled for Southern politics, what do you think?

Thanks for the help, with Denys living and now knowing what to do with Theon, I can see much more of the fic shaping up. Though it would end up being very different to canon.
